How much of the rated capacity can I actually use?
These are LiFePO4 packs specified for deep discharge, and the product pages give 95-100% DOD on the residential range. Practically, an installer sets the inverter to leave a small reserve so the pack never sits at zero, which is also what keeps the cycle count honest.
Can I start with 10 kWh and add more later?
Yes, that is the design intent. All powerwall models are 51.2V and parallel with more units of the same type. Tell the installer at the first fit to leave breaker and cable capacity for the second module and the upgrade takes an afternoon.
Which inverters do these work with?
The packs communicate over the common battery protocols used by mainstream hybrid inverters. Send us the inverter brand and model with your enquiry and we will confirm the protocol before you order rather than after.
What is the difference between wall-mount and the 30 kWh floor unit?
Mounting and scale. The 5, 10 and 15 kWh packs hang on a wall with an IP54 rating. The 30 kWh 600Ah unit is a floor-standing cabinet on wheels, for installs where the wall cannot carry the weight or the capacity has outgrown a wall-hung format.
What certificates do they carry?
CE, UL, MSDS, IEC, UN38.3 and ISO are listed on these product pages. For a grid-connected residential install, ask us which certificate your local authority requires and we will confirm what we hold for that model.
What does the five-year warranty cover?
The pack and its BMS. The published service life expectation is 10+ years at 6000+ cycles. As with any storage battery, keep the installation within the temperature and charge parameters on the datasheet - that is the part that decides whether the pack reaches its cycle rating.
