Material and Mould Questions

Which shielding tape gives the highest attenuation?

Copper foil polyester tape, at around 100 dB in the 1 to 100 MHz range, compared with up to 70 dB for aluminium composites used with Mylar foil.

How do I choose a braiding wire?

CCS for strength, CCA for economy, CCAM for flexibility and fatigue life, Al-Mg for the lightest shield. Al-Mg is not solderable.

Can tape be slit to our width?

Yes. Minimum slitting width is 2 mm with 5 mm conventional, on 52 mm or 76 mm cores.

Do you supply LSZH compound?

Yes, along with PVC, PE, HDPE, TPE, PU/TPU and FEP, formulated for flexibility, flame retardancy, temperature and colour.
