Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable RG59

75 Ohm Core for Analogue Video and CCTV Production

Product Overview

What This Product Is

RG59 in semi-finished form is the conductor, foamed PE dielectric and optional shield layers with the outer jacket left off. It is the working core behind analogue video and CCTV cable, and it is bought by plants that finish the cable themselves — sometimes as plain coax, sometimes siamesed with a power pair. Because the jacket is not yet on, the same core can end up as a PVC indoor cable, an LSZH cable for public buildings or a PE cable for outdoor runs.

Key Benefits

What It Gives Your Production Line

One Core, Several Finished Products

Plain video cable, siamese CCTV cable or a custom composite — the jacketing stage decides, not the core purchase.

Attenuation Held Where CCTV Needs It

About 7.0 dB/100m at 100 MHz over a DC to 750 MHz range, which is the working band for analogue video.

Conductor Grade Priced to the Market

BC for professional installs, CCS or CCA where the tender is price-led, all in the same RG59 geometry.

Clean Surface for Jacket Adhesion

Film-wrapped reels keep the shield free of dust and moisture, which shows up as fewer jacket defects downstream.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Used

  • Analogue video and CCTV surveillance systems
  • Short and medium distance CATV distribution
  • Low-frequency RF applications
  • Residential and commercial video wiring
Who It Is For

Who Buys It

  • CCTV cable assemblers who add their own jacket and connectors
  • Security-cable brands running private-label production
  • Cable plants filling RG59 orders without tying up a foaming line
Problems It Solves

The Reasons Buyers Move To This Product

Siamese Cable Needs a Bare Core

You cannot bond a power pair neatly to an already-jacketed coax. Starting from the core makes siamese construction straightforward.

Low-Margin Product, High Changeover Cost

RG59 sells on price. Buying the core keeps your extruder on the jobs where the margin actually is.

Mixed Conductor Demand

Some tenders demand bare copper, others accept CCS. Both are available in the same core spec, so quoting does not force a process change.

Manufacturing And Quality Control

How It Is Produced And Checked

Production runs from conductor preparation — rod drawing, annealing, stranding and surface cleaning — through foamed insulation extrusion with controlled cell size and on-line diameter monitoring, then foil wrapping and braiding to the shield specification ordered. The line stops before jacket extrusion.

  1. Conductor Preparation

Rod drawing, annealing and surface cleaning so the insulation bonds without microvoids.

  2. Insulation Monitoring

Insulation thickness and concentricity monitored continuously on line during extrusion.

  3. Shield Verification

Foil overlap and braid coverage checked against the ordered shield construction.

  4. Electrical Spot Check

Impedance and attenuation sampled against the published values for the construction.

  5. Reel Packing

Reels wrapped in plastic film against moisture and dust, then cartoned or palletised.

Customisation Options

What Can Be Changed

  • Conductor grade BC, CCA, CCS or CCAM
  • Braid coverage 40 to 95 percent
  • Aluminium or copper foil
  • Standard, tri-shield or quad-shield
  • Reel length and reel type
Use Guide

Working With It On Your Line

  • Confirm the shield build on the reel label — standard and tri-shield cores look almost identical once wound.
  • Store reels off the floor and keep the film wrap intact until the core is loaded.
  • For siamese constructions, bond the power pair after the coax jacket cools to avoid dielectric deformation.
  • Check impedance on a sample from each reel before a long production run.
Comparison

How It Compares Within The Range

Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable RG59 sits inside the Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable range. The products below are the closest alternatives or the parts most often ordered alongside it — compare the published specification tables rather than the descriptions when the choice is close.

FAQ

Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable RG59 FAQ

What frequency range does RG59 cover?

DC to 750 MHz, which suits analogue video, CCTV and short-run CATV distribution.

Can I use this core for siamese CCTV cable?

Yes. Because there is no jacket, the core can be jacketed alone or run together with a power pair in your own construction.

How does RG59 compare to RG6 on loss?

RG59 is about 7.0 dB/100m at 100 MHz against roughly 6.5 dB/100m for RG6, and its usable range stops at 750 MHz rather than 1 GHz.

What is the minimum order?

Order quantity is agreed per specification. Send the conductor grade, shield build and reel length by WhatsApp or email for a quote.

Which reel types are available?

Wooden or plastic reels, typically 500 m or 1000 m per reel, with custom lengths on request.
