Four Reasons Cable Plants Buy Cores

Cable plants rarely own every process. Foaming extrusion, pair twisting, foil taping and braiding are the expensive stages. We supply the core at whichever stage you stop making it yourself, so your line runs on jacketing, printing and packing — the steps where your margin and your brand actually live.

The Foaming Line Is the Bottleneck

Foamed dielectric extrusion with closed-loop diameter control is the hardest and most capital-heavy stage in coaxial production. Buying the core turns that fixed cost into a per-metre cost.

Pair Twisting Limits LAN Output

Lay-length control decides whether a CAT6 core passes. Semi-finished LAN cores arrive with the pair geometry already produced and measured.

Questions Buyers Ask Before The First Order

What does semi-finished cable actually mean?

It means the cable is produced up to a defined stage and then stopped. For coaxial cable that is usually the conductor, foamed dielectric and shielding, with no outer jacket. For LAN cable it is the twisted pairs and any shielding, again with no jacket.

Why would a cable plant buy cores instead of making them?

Foaming extrusion, pair twisting, foil taping and braiding each need dedicated machinery and process control. Buying the core lets a plant sell finished cable while investing only in jacketing, printing and packing.

Do you also sell the machines?

Yes. We supply extrusion lines for LAN cable, electronic wire and fluoropolymer insulation, braiding machines, ABS reels, moulds and tooling components, alongside the materials they process.

Can we apply our own brand to the finished cable?

Yes. Cores are supplied unprinted specifically so that print legend, colour, jacket compound and compliance marking are decided by you.
