Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable RG6

75 Ohm CATV Core Ready for Your Own Shielding and Jacket

Product Overview

What This Product Is

This is the RG6 cable core only: conductor plus foamed polyethylene dielectric, with foil and braid shielding applied to your specification and no outer jacket. Cable plants buy it when they want to run their own jacketing line, apply their own print legend and stay in control of CPR or regional fire classification. Conductor options cover solid bare copper, copper-clad steel, copper-clad aluminium and copper-clad aluminium-magnesium so you can price the core to the market you sell into.

Key Benefits

What It Gives Your Production Line

Jacket Decisions Stay With You

The core arrives unjacketed, so PVC, LSZH or PE jacketing, colour and printed legend are all decided on your own extrusion line.

Four Conductor Grades on One Spec

BC, CCS, CCA and CCAM are all available in the same RG6 geometry, which lets you serve premium and price-driven customers without changing your process.

Stable Geometry for High-Speed Jacketing

Controlled dielectric diameter and concentricity keep jacket wall thickness even when the line runs fast.

Shielding Built to the Order

Standard foil plus braid, tri-shield or quad-shield with 40 to 95 percent braid coverage, specified per reel.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Used

  • Cable TV distribution networks
  • Satellite TV installations
  • Broadband internet drop and distribution cable
  • CCTV surveillance wiring
  • Commercial and residential RF wiring
Who It Is For

Who Buys It

  • Finished-cable plants that own a jacketing line but not a foaming extruder
  • Regional brands that need their own print legend and packaging
  • Distributors supplying CATV installers who want private-label RG6
Problems It Solves

The Reasons Buyers Move To This Product

Foaming Extrusion Is the Hard Part

Foamed PE calls for a gas or chemical foaming process and closed-loop diameter control. Buying the core skips that capital step while you keep the jacketing margin.

Small Batches of Many Grades

Switching between BC, CCS, CCA and CCAM on your own line costs changeover time. Ordering the core by grade moves that cost upstream.

Regional Fire Rules Keep Moving

With an unjacketed core you re-classify by changing only the jacket compound, not the whole cable construction.

Manufacturing And Quality Control

How It Is Produced And Checked

Production runs from conductor preparation — rod drawing, annealing, stranding and surface cleaning — through foamed insulation extrusion with controlled cell size and on-line diameter monitoring, then foil wrapping and braiding to the shield specification ordered. The line stops before jacket extrusion.

  1. Conductor Preparation

Rod drawing, annealing and surface cleaning so the insulation bonds without microvoids.

  2. Insulation Monitoring

Insulation thickness and concentricity monitored continuously on line during extrusion.

  3. Shield Verification

Foil overlap and braid coverage checked against the ordered shield construction.

  4. Electrical Spot Check

Impedance and attenuation sampled against the published values for the construction.

  5. Reel Packing

Reels wrapped in plastic film against moisture and dust, then cartoned or palletised.

Customisation Options

What Can Be Changed

  • Conductor grade: BC, CCA, CCS or CCAM
  • Braid coverage from 40 to 95 percent
  • Aluminium or copper foil
  • Tri-shield or quad-shield construction
  • Reel length and reel type
Use Guide

Working With It On Your Line

  • Check reel labels for conductor grade and shield build before loading the pay-off; grades look similar on the reel.
  • Keep the core wrapped until it enters the jacketing line so the foil stays clean and dry.
  • Set jacket line tension against the core OD, not the finished OD, to avoid crushing the foam dielectric.
  • Run a spark test and OD check on the first 50 m of each reel before committing the run.

FAQ

Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable RG6 FAQ

Is the outer jacket included?

No. RG6 is supplied as a core only — conductor, foamed PE dielectric and the shielding you specify. You apply the jacket.

Which conductor materials can I order?

Solid bare copper (BC), copper-clad aluminium (CCA), copper-clad steel (CCS) and copper-clad aluminium-magnesium (CCAM).

What braid coverage is available?

40 to 95 percent on standard and tri-shield builds. Quad-shield is supplied as 60 percent and 40 percent braid layers.

What length comes on a reel?

Typically 500 m or 1000 m. Custom lengths are produced to order.

How is the core protected in transit?

Each reel is wrapped with plastic film against moisture and dust, then packed in cartons or on pallets for bulk orders.

What does a 500 m reel weigh?

Approximately 15 to 22 kg, depending on conductor grade and shield construction.
