Thin 50 Ohm Core for GPS Antenna and RF Module Wiring
RG174 is the small-diameter 50 ohm core used inside GPS modules, wireless antennas and test leads, where routing space matters more than power handling. The insulation diameter is about 1.52 mm and the cable runs from DC to 1 GHz at roughly 14 dB/100m at 100 MHz. Supplied without a jacket, it is bought by assembly manufacturers who add their own jacket, shielding upgrade or overmoulded connector.
Semi-Finished Coaxial Cable

An insulation diameter of about 1.52 mm lets the cable route inside compact GPS and RF modules.
Standard single shield, three-layer or four-layer builds are available on the same core geometry.
Approximately 8 to 12 kg per 1000 m, so reels are easy to change on bench-scale assembly work.
Foamed PE for general use or FEP where the assembly sees higher temperatures.
Thick coax will not bend into a compact module. A thin core solves the routing problem before jacket choice is even discussed.
One customer wants single shield, the next wants four layers. Ordering by shield build avoids stocking several finished cables.
Core supply on 500 m or 1000 m reels keeps variant stock affordable.

Production runs from conductor preparation — rod drawing, annealing, stranding and surface cleaning — through foamed insulation extrusion with controlled cell size and on-line diameter monitoring, then foil wrapping and braiding to the shield specification ordered. The line stops before jacket extrusion.
Rod drawing, annealing and surface cleaning so the insulation bonds without microvoids.
Insulation thickness and concentricity monitored continuously on line during extrusion.
Foil overlap and braid coverage checked against the ordered shield construction.
Impedance and attenuation sampled against the published values for the construction.
Reels wrapped in plastic film against moisture and dust, then cartoned or palletised.
