AL PET AL Three Layer Shield for Cable Production
This is a three-layer laminate: a PET film sandwiched between two layers of aluminium foil, bonded by adhesive or extrusion lamination. Shielding works from both sides, and the PET core carries tensile load so the tape does not elongate or break during cable twisting and extrusion. It is used as the shield layer in Cat5e to Cat7 LAN cable, coaxial cable, instrumentation and control cable, automotive and EV cable and general communication cable.
Material and MouldShielding Foil and Tape

Aluminium on both sides of the PET core protects against electromagnetic and radio frequency interference regardless of tape orientation.
The PET core gives tensile strength and prevents elongation or breakage during cable twisting or extrusion.
An effective barrier to water vapour, chemical corrosion and oxidation inside the finished cable.
Thermal stability for the temperatures normally seen during cable production.
Elongation and breakage in the taping stage stop the line. The PET core is there to prevent that.
With aluminium on both faces, a tape loaded the wrong way round still shields.
The laminate acts as a vapour and corrosion barrier inside the construction.

Figures are the published specification for this product. Values outside this table are confirmed in writing before order rather than estimated.
Materials are produced to the stated thickness, width and formulation, then slit, wound and packed to the reel or core size ordered. Dimensional checks are made against the specification before dispatch.
Foil, film, compound or wire checked for thickness and surface condition before processing.
Coating, lamination, slitting or drawing to the ordered dimension.
Width, thickness and roll or reel diameter verified against the specification.
Shielding attenuation and conductivity referenced to the published figures for the grade.
Shaft or reel packing in cartons for safe handling and transport.
Double-Sided Aluminum Foil Composite Material sits inside the Material and Mould range. The products below are the closest alternatives or the parts most often ordered alongside it — compare the published specification tables rather than the descriptions when the choice is close.
