Teflon High-Temperature Extrusion Line

Fluoropolymer Insulation Line Running to 500 Degrees Celsius

Product Overview

What This Product Is

This line insulates wire with fluoropolymers — FEP, PFA, ETFE and PTFE by paste extrusion — for aerospace, military, medical and high-end industrial cable. The extruder barrel and screw are specially treated for fluoropolymer resistance and run continuously up to 450–500°C, with a 600°C die zone. Laser diameter control with closed-loop feedback keeps insulation thickness consistent, and a cleanroom option is available for medical-grade FEP tubing.

Machine and Parts

Teflon High-Temperature Extrusion Line
Key Benefits

What It Gives Your Production Line

Built for Corrosive High Temperature Work

Barrel, screw and components are treated and corrosion resistant for aggressive fluoropolymers at 500°C.

Concentric Insulation on Fine Wire

A precision crosshead die plus laser gauge with closed-loop feedback holds thickness to fine tolerance.

Servo Driven Line Control

Servo-motor capstan and PLC with HMI keep line speed and tension synchronised through the process.

Cleanroom Option Available

For medical-grade FEP tubing and ultra-clean insulation production.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Used

  • Aerospace and military wiring harnesses
  • Medical tubing such as catheters and probes
  • High-temperature sensor wires
  • Industrial automation and robotics wiring
  • Automotive engine compartment cables
Who It Is For

Who Buys It

  • Specialist cable makers entering fluoropolymer work
  • Medical tubing manufacturers
  • Aerospace and defence wire suppliers
Problems It Solves

The Reasons Buyers Move To This Product

Standard Extruders Fail on Fluoropolymer

Ordinary barrels corrode and cannot hold 500°C. This line is specified for the material from the start.

Thermal Stress Cracks the Insulation

Multi-section cooling reduces temperature gradually so internal stress does not build up.

Medical Work Demands Clean Production

The cleanroom option addresses contamination control for medical tubing.

Manufacturing And Quality Control

How It Is Produced And Checked

Machines are assembled and tested against the published model specification before dispatch, and commissioning support plus overseas service engineers are available after installation.

  1. Specification Agreement

Model selected from conductor range and required output before anything is built.

  2. Assembly

Line assembled to the agreed configuration, including instrumentation and control system.

  3. Test Run

Machine tested against the published model specification before dispatch.

  4. Documentation

Model parameters and component list supplied with the machine.

  5. After Sales

Warranty, long-term maintenance and engineers available to service machinery overseas.

Customisation Options

What Can Be Changed

  • Curing oven for PFA or special formulations
  • Cleanroom configuration for medical-grade production
  • Single-layer, dual-layer or shielded extrusion
  • Extruder size from 30 to 65 mm
  • Take-up type: motorised drum or precision traverse
Use Guide

Working With It On Your Line

  • Extract and ventilate the die area properly — fluoropolymer processing releases fumes at these temperatures.
  • Preheat the conductor to drive off moisture or the insulation will show voids.
  • Bring the barrel to temperature slowly to protect the treated surfaces.
  • Use the laser gauge feedback rather than periodic sampling to hold insulation thickness.
