Copper Foil and Strip
C1100 oxygen-free electrolytic copper at 99% IACS for transformer windings.

C1100 copper foil and strip for transformer windings, 0.2 to 3.0 mm thick and 50 to 1350 mm wide, on inner diameters of 300, 400 or 500 mm or customised. Copper content is 99% or higher with conductivity of 99% IACS or better and tensile strength above 193 MPa. The material is oxygen-free electrolytic copper with oxygen below 0.02% and purity of 99.95% or higher.
What This Group Is Built To Solve
Winding conductor decides a transformer's load losses, and load losses run for the life of the unit. Buying conductor on price without a conductivity figure means the loss performance of the finished transformer is unknown until it is tested, at which point the winding is already in the tank.
Who This Range Is For
Transformer Manufacturers
C1100 at 99% IACS is the specification a transformer design assumes, and foil winding is standard construction for dry-type low voltage coils.
Exporters to Regulated Markets
Compliance with IEC, BIS and ASTM on the strip, and American, European, German and Japanese standards on the foil, covers the major certification regimes.
Repair and Rewind Shops
Supply covers transformer manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and repairs, so a rewind years later uses the same specification.
What Makes This Range Different
Oxygen Below 0.02%
Oxygen in copper embrittles the metal when a winding joint is brazed or welded. Below 0.02% is what keeps those joints sound for the transformer's life.
Conductivity Published at 99% IACS
Load losses can be calculated at design stage rather than measured after the transformer is built.
Width to 1350 mm
Foil winding needs strip as tall as the coil. A 1350 mm maximum covers large distribution transformer coils in one piece, with no joint in the winding.
Multi-Standard Compliance
IEC, BIS and ASTM on the strip, plus American, European, German and Japanese standards on the foil, which removes a material qualification step per export market.

Copper or Aluminium for Transformer Windings
63% IACS against 99% IACS. With both figures published, the choice between aluminium and copper foil becomes arithmetic at design stage rather than a matter of preference.
Copper Foil and Strip Questions
What alloy and dimensions are available?
C1100, 0.2 to 3.0 mm thick and 50 to 1350 mm wide, on 300, 400 or 500 mm inner diameters or customised.
What purity and oxygen content?
Oxygen-free electrolytic copper with oxygen below 0.02% and purity of 99.95% or higher.
What conductivity and tensile strength?
99% IACS or better and tensile strength above 193 MPa.
Which standards does it meet?
IEC, BIS and ASTM on the strip, plus American, European, German and Japanese standards on the foil.
Copper or aluminium?
Copper gives 99% IACS against aluminium's 63%, so a smaller conductor section for the same current, at a higher price and weight.
Do you supply material certificates?
Request the certificate showing oxygen content and purity with the order.
