Eleven Models Split Between Horizontal And Vertical Mounting

The SKW and SKS families mount horizontally, the SKG family mounts inline and vertically. Within each family the suffix marks the duty: H for chemical, R for hot water, S for high temperature, Y for oil.

Problems It Solves

The pump room is too small for a coupled set

The SKW family is close coupled with no separate coupling or baseplate, which cuts the footprint against an ordinary horizontal set with a coupling and frame.

The liquid is hotter than a standard pump allows

Standard water pumps stop around 80 degrees. The R, S and Y models carry higher temperature limits, up to 350 degrees on thermal oil versions in the high temperature line.

Vibration and noise in an occupied building

Dynamically balanced impellers and direct coupling reduce vibration, which protects bearings and keeps plant rooms under a building quieter.

How To Pick The Right Model In This Line

Fix The Duty Point

Flow in m3/h and total head in metres including static lift and pipe losses. Guessing high here is what causes throttled valves and wasted power later.

Name The Liquid

Clear water, hot water, thermal oil, chemical. Temperature and specific gravity decide the material and the seal, not the flow.

Choose The Mounting

Horizontal for plant rooms with floor space, vertical inline where the pump sits directly in the pipe run and space is tight.

Confirm Motor And Connection

380 to 415 V three phase at 50 or 60 Hz is standard. Flanged connections are sized from the caliber, up to 500 mm on the largest model.

Centrifugal Pumps FAQ

What is the difference between the SKW and SKS families?

SKW is a direct coupled pump with the motor and pump body integrated, so it takes less floor space. SKS is the traditional arrangement with a coupling between motor and pump, which makes the seal easier to service without disturbing the motor.

How high can the liquid temperature be?

80 degrees Celsius on the standard water models. The hot water models are rated higher and the thermal oil models in the high temperature line run to 350 degrees. Always state the working temperature in the enquiry.

Can the pump handle liquid with solids?

These are clear liquid pumps with a free passage of a fraction of a millimetre. For sludge or liquid with fibre and solids use the rubber lobe or progressing cavity lines instead.

What seal is fitted as standard?

A mechanical seal with hard alloy rotating and stationary rings. Packing gland is available where the plant prefers to service a gland rather than change a cartridge.

Is the motor included?

Yes. Pumps are quoted as a set with the motor rated for the duty point, in 380 to 415 V three phase, 50 or 60 Hz. Tell us the site voltage and frequency with the enquiry.
