When the circuit runs past the limit of a hot water pump, this is the horizontal model that carries a 240 degree fluid rating.

Overview
The SKWS is the high temperature build of the horizontal platform, published with a maximum permissible fluid temperature of 240 degrees Celsius for pressurised cyclic transport.
It keeps the hydraulics and the footprint of the rest of the SKW family, covering 1.5 to 1500 m3/h with heads to 150 m and drives to 160 kW, so a temperature upgrade does not force a change of pump size.
| Working Principle | Centrifugal |
|---|---|
| Main applications | Water |
| Driver | Electric motor |
| Power Specs | 380/415 V 220v,3phase;50hz/60hz |
| Max. permissible fluid temperature | 240°C |
| Type of connection | Flange |
Key Benefits
The highest published temperature in the centrifugal range, for pressurised circulation duty.
Flow, head and connection sizes match the rest of the SKW family, so pipework and duty points carry over.
Hard alloy mechanical seal faces or a packing gland, specified against temperature and system pressure together.
Cast iron, stainless steel or bronze wetted parts depending on the circuit fluid.
Application Scenarios
Pressurised circulation above the range of a standard hot water pump.
Circuits recovering heat from process streams where temperatures stay high continuously.
Plant heating where the medium is water held above its atmospheric boiling point under pressure.
A pump rated for the actual circuit temperature stops the cycle of seal replacements that follows an undersized rating.
Because the platform is shared, moving to the high temperature build does not change flow, head or connection sizes.
Above 120 degrees the fluid and the pressurisation matter as much as the pump. We ask for both before quoting.

Specifications
SKWS published data. High temperature service depends on correct pressurisation, so send the circuit design pressure with the duty.

Materials And Process
| SKWR hot water pump | The SKWR is rated to 120 degrees. Above that, this model is the correct one rather than an uprated version of the other. |
|---|---|
| SKGS vertical high temperature pump | Same 240 degree rating in a vertical inline body, when floor space rather than headroom is the constraint. |
Use Guide
Water above 100 degrees needs the circuit held above its vapour pressure. Confirm this before commissioning.
Raise circuit temperature in stages so the casing and seal reach temperature evenly.
Vent thoroughly during heat up, since vapour pockets at the pump cause immediate seal damage.
Record flow, pressure, temperature and current once stable, and compare monthly.
Answers
240 degrees Celsius as published on the SKWS data sheet.
For thermal oil circuits use the magnetic drive heat transfer line rated to 350 degrees, which has no shaft seal.
No. Flow is 1.5 to 1500 m3/h with head to 150 m, the same as the rest of the family.
Mechanical seal with hard alloy rotating and stationary rings, or a packing gland, selected against temperature and pressure.
Pressurisation, venting and expansion. A correctly rated pump in a badly pressurised circuit will still fail.
