Centrifugal Pumps

SKGY Centrifugal Oil Pump

Oil duty in an inline body, for gasoline, kerosene and diesel where the installation has pipe space but no floor space.

SKGY vertical centrifugal oil pump with inline flanged connections

Overview

What This Pump Does

The SKGY is the oil duty build of the vertical inline range, intended for petroleum products such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil, with a published maximum viscosity of 750 cSt.

Flow covers 1.5 to 1200 m3/h with a maximum head of 80 m and a maximum fluid temperature of 120 degrees Celsius, with drives to 160 kW.

Working PrincipleCentrifugal
Main applicationsgasoline, kerosene and diesel oil
DriverElectric motor
Power Specs380/415 V 220v,3phase;50hz/60hz
Max. permissible fluid temperature120°C
Type of connectionFlange

Key Benefits

Oil Duty Without Floor Space

Inline Oil Transfer

The pump sits in the pipe run, which suits fuel installations where the pipework is elevated and floor area is committed.

Published Viscosity Limit

750 cSt maximum, so selection is made against the product rather than a water curve.

Hydrocarbon Seal Arrangement

Mechanical seal with hard alloy faces or packing gland, with elastomers for petroleum service.

Material Options

Cast iron or stainless casing with cast iron, stainless or bronze impeller.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Installed

Fuel Transfer Installations

Moving gasoline, kerosene and diesel where the pipework is already routed.

Plant Oil Circulation

Circulating oil inside a works at temperatures up to 120 degrees.

Depot Duty

Transfer at higher flow rates with moderate head requirements.

Who It Is For

  • Fuel handling contractors
  • Power and industrial plants with fuel systems
  • Petrochemical operations
  • Engineers fitting pumps into existing fuel pipework

Problems It Solves

No floor space for an oil pump

The inline body is carried by the pipework, so the pump fits where a horizontal set would not.

Selection made on a water curve

A published viscosity limit makes it possible to check the selection against the actual product.

Seal compatibility

Elastomers and faces are chosen for hydrocarbons rather than carried over from a water build.

Compared With Other Options

SKWY horizontal oil pumpSame oil duty on the horizontal platform, with all round access for maintenance.
K2CY gear pumpA gear pump suits thicker oil and steady pressure duty. The SKGY moves larger volumes at lower viscosity.

Use Guide

Fuel Duty Installation Notes

Check Cold Viscosity

Winter start viscosity can be several times the working value and decides the motor rating.

Follow Static Control

Bonding and earthing per the site procedure for hydrocarbon installations.

Support The Pipe

Brace the pipework either side so the pump takes no strain from the line.

Inspect The Seal

On fuel duty any seal weep is a safety issue and should be actioned immediately.

Answers

SKGY Centrifugal Oil Pump FAQ

Which products can it move?

Petroleum products such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil, within the published viscosity and temperature limits.

What is the viscosity limit?

750 cSt as published. Thicker products need a positive displacement pump.

What flow and head are available?

1.5 to 1200 m3/h with a maximum head of 80 m.

Can the motor be explosion protected?

Motor specification follows the area classification. State the zone and the standard with the enquiry.

Is there a horizontal version?

Yes, the SKWY, with the same oil duty ratings.
