A tube pump when the chemical is aggressive, gassing or the supply may run dry. A gear pump when you need smooth continuous flow against higher pressure with a clean liquid.
How do I keep the dose accurate at low rates?
Size the pump for the turndown, not just the peak. Running a large pump at the bottom of its range is where accuracy disappears.
Are the pumps suitable for solvents?
Magnetic drive gear pumps are used for solvent duty because there is no shaft seal. Confirm the specific solvent so the wetted materials are checked.
How often do tubes need replacing?
It depends on speed and chemistry. Set an interval at commissioning and keep spares on the shelf, since a tube change takes minutes.
Can you supply the transfer pump as well as the dosing pump?
Yes. Chemical duty centrifugal pumps with stainless wetted parts cover the transfer side, from the same works.
