Built for petroleum products rather than water: gasoline, kerosene and diesel, with a published viscosity limit of 750 cSt.

Overview
The SKWY is the oil duty version of the horizontal platform. It handles petroleum products such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil, with the seal arrangement and materials chosen for hydrocarbon service.
Flow covers 1.5 to 1200 m3/h with a maximum head of 80 m, maximum viscosity 750 cSt and fluid temperature to 120 degrees Celsius, with drives to 160 kW.
| Working Principle | Centrifugal |
|---|---|
| Main applications | gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil |
| Driver | Electric motor |
| Power Specs | 380/415 V 220v , 3phase ; 50hz / 60hz |
| Max. permissible fluid temperature | 120°C |
| Type of connection | Flange |
Key Benefits
A stated maximum viscosity of 750 cSt, so the selection is made against the oil rather than against a water curve.
Mechanical seal with hard alloy faces or packing gland, with elastomers chosen for petroleum service.
Cast iron or stainless steel casing with cast iron, stainless or bronze impeller for the product being moved.
Up to 1200 m3/h, which covers depot and terminal transfer as well as plant duty.
Application Scenarios
Moving gasoline, kerosene and diesel between storage and dispensing or process.
Higher flow transfer where head requirements are moderate and volume is large.
Circulating oil inside a plant at temperatures up to 120 degrees.
Viscosity changes the curve and the power demand. A pump selected on a water curve will not deliver on oil.
Seal faces and elastomers are chosen for petroleum service rather than adopted from a water pump build.
Maximum viscosity, temperature and head are published, so the selection can be checked rather than assumed.

Specifications
Published SKWY data. Viscosity at the pumping temperature, not at ambient, is what governs the selection.

Materials And Process
| K2CY gear pump | A gear pump gives steady flow against pressure on thicker oils. The SKWY moves far larger volumes at lower viscosity. |
|---|---|
| SKGY vertical oil pump | Same oil duty in a vertical inline body where floor area is the constraint. |
Use Guide
Cold start viscosity can be several times the working figure, which sets the motor rating.
Follow the site procedure for static control on hydrocarbon transfer installations.
Ensure the casing is full. Dry running is as damaging on oil as on water.
On fuel duty any seal weep is a safety matter, not a maintenance note.
Answers
Petroleum products such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil, within the published viscosity and temperature limits.
750 cSt as published. Above that, a positive displacement pump such as the gear or progressing cavity line is the right choice.
80 m on this model, with flow to 1200 m3/h.
Motor specification follows the area classification of the installation. State the zone and the standard with the enquiry.
Up to 120 degrees Celsius on this data sheet.
