SKW Horizontal Centrifugal Pump
A direct coupled single stage end suction pump with no separate coupling, which is what removes about 30 percent of the footprint an ordinary horizontal set needs.

What This Pump Does
The SKW is the workhorse of the horizontal range: a single stage, single end suction pump with the motor and pump body integrated, so there is no coupling, no alignment and no separate baseplate. It moves clear water and liquids with similar chemical and physical properties, at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius.
Because the set is compact and can be supplied with an IP54 outdoor motor, it can be installed without a pump room. Flow covers 1.5 to 1500 m3/h with heads to 150 m and drive ratings to 160 kW.

The plant room is too small
A close coupled set removes the coupling, the frame and the alignment work, which is often what makes a replacement fit.
Maintenance access is poor
A drain hole at the lower part of the pump body and pressure holes at the inlet and outlet flanges make routine work and pressure checks straightforward.
Pipework layout is awkward
Horizontal inlet with vertical upward outlet suits the way most plant room pipework is routed.

Use Guide
Installing And Running The SKW
Check The Duty
Confirm flow, static lift and pipe losses before installation. A throttled discharge valve means the pump was sized on a guess.
Pipe It Properly
Horizontal inlet, vertical upward outlet, supported pipework and no strain on the flanges.
Prime And Vent
Fill and vent the casing before the first start. Dry running destroys the seal faces in seconds.
Watch The First Week
Check for leakage at the seal, note the running current and record the duty so later drift can be measured.

What is the maximum flow and head?
Flow range is 1.5 to 1500 m3/h, maximum head 150 m, maximum drive rating 160 kW and maximum caliber 500 mm, which is 20 inch.
How hot can the water be?
Up to 80 degrees Celsius on this model. For hotter duty use the SKWR hot water or SKWS high temperature version.
Can it pump liquid with solids?
No. Free passage is 0.2 mm, so this is a clear liquid pump. For solids use the rubber lobe or progressing cavity lines.
Which motor supply is standard?
380 to 415 V, also 220 V, three phase, 50 or 60 Hz. State the site supply with the enquiry.
Can the pump be installed outdoors?
Yes, with IP54 outdoor motors, which is one reason this series is used where there is no pump room.
