The traditional arrangement: pump and motor joined by a coupling, so the seal and bearings can be reached without disturbing the motor.

Overview
The SKS is a single stage, single end suction water pump of international standard build, with a coupling between the motor and the pump. Where the SKW saves space, the SKS saves service time, because the rotating element can be worked on with the motor left in place.
Duty covers water supply and drainage, pressure boosting in high buildings, irrigation, fire fighting, long distance transfer and heating and cooling circulation. Maximum fluid temperature is listed at 80 degrees Celsius, with a 150 degree version in the range.
| Working Principle | Centrifugal |
|---|---|
| Main applications | Water |
| Driver | Electric motor |
| Power Specs | 380/415 V 220v,3phase;50hz/60hz |
| Max. permissible fluid temperature | 80°C/150°C |
| Type of connection | Flange |
Key Benefits
The coupling gives access to the seal and bearings, which shortens a planned service and avoids re-terminating the motor.
Most maintenance teams already know how to align and service a coupled set, so nothing new has to be learned.
A failed motor can be changed without replacing the pump end, and vice versa.
Single stage single suction hydraulics of international standard design, with a mechanical seal in hard alloy or a packing gland.
Application Scenarios
Water supply and drainage duty for industry and city networks.
Pressure increasing supply where the set runs long hours and will be serviced in place.
Cold and warm water circulation and matching equipment on plant circuits.
With the coupling in place the rotating element is accessible, so a seal change does not become a motor job.
Standard construction means impellers, seals and bearings can be ordered against the model number years later.
The traditional footprint often drops into the space an existing coupled pump occupied.

Specifications
Data sheet figures for the SKS. The high temperature build extends the fluid limit, which is why two figures appear against temperature.

Materials And Process
| SKW close coupled pump | The SKW takes less floor area and needs no alignment. The SKS is easier to service without disturbing the motor. |
|---|---|
| SKG vertical inline pump | The SKG saves floor area by sitting in the pipe run, but needs headroom above it for lifting. |
Use Guide
Check alignment after the baseplate is grouted and again after the pipework is connected, because pipe strain moves it.
Fill the casing and vent before starting. Confirm rotation direction before the first full run.
On a packed pump, adjust to a slow drip. A dry gland burns the packing and scores the sleeve.
Note flow, pressure and current at commissioning so later changes can be measured against something.
Answers
The SKS keeps a coupling between the motor and pump. That costs floor space but lets the seal and bearings be serviced without moving the motor.
6.3 to 200 m3/h on the listed data sheet, with a maximum head of 125 m, a maximum drive rating of 110 kW and a maximum caliber of 150 mm.
The data sheet gives a maximum permissible fluid temperature of 80 degrees Celsius, with a 150 degree build in the range. State the working temperature with the enquiry.
The pump is quoted as a set with motor, coupling and baseplate unless you ask for a bare shaft pump.
Yes, which is one reason coupled sets are chosen. Keep the coupling and alignment data with the maintenance record.
