Why use a vertical pump instead of a horizontal one on a pit?
Because a pit gives no flooded suction. A vertical wet-installed pump hangs in the liquid, so there is nothing to prime and no suction lift to overcome.
How deep a sump can you cover?
Column length is made to the sump depth and confirmed at enquiry. Measure from the mounting plate face to the lowest working liquid level.
Can a vertical pump handle grit?
The VNP is rated to approximately 20 percent solids content, the highest in the range. Keep the suction clear of the sump floor so settled grit is not drawn straight in.
What sealing is used on a submerged pump?
A labyrinth seal or a lip ring seal rather than a mechanical seal, because a mechanical seal below the liquid line cannot be flushed, inspected or adjusted.
