Which ISO series should I choose, CI or KCP?
Choose CI where the water is clean or treated and the limits are flow and head — it reaches 500 m³/h and 80 m. Choose KCP where the water's chemistry is the limiting factor and the wetted part has to be PP, PE or UHMW-PE.
Is an ISO 2858 pump really interchangeable between manufacturers?
Dimensionally, yes, provided the size designation matches. The hydraulic performance can still differ, so check the duty point as well as the designation when you replace one brand with another.
What does ISO 5199 add over ISO 2858?
ISO 2858 covers dimensions only. ISO 5199 is a technical class covering shaft deflection limits, bearing life, seal chamber dimensions and casing thickness — the things that decide how long the pump lasts.
Do both ISO series use back-pull-out construction?
Yes. On both the CI and the KCP the rotating assembly comes out of the back of the casing with the suction and discharge pipes left in place.
