Pump Category

ANSI Water Centrifugal Pumps

End-suction water pumps built to the American dimensional standard, so the pump you buy interchanges with the pump already bolted to the baseplate.

The Problem

What This Category Is For

A plant standardised on ANSI hydraulics has years of baseplates, pipe spools and spare parts built around one set of dimensions. Buying a pump that does not honour those dimensions means new grouting, new spools and a second spares list. The ANSI family exists so that never has to happen.

Who It Suits

  • Water and waste water plants that specify ANSI/ASME B73.1
  • EPC contractors writing American standards into a water package
  • Distributors in markets where inch sizing and ANSI flanges are the norm
  • Maintenance teams replacing a discontinued B73.1 pump in place

Problems It Solves

  • Discontinued pumps that still sit on a serviceable baseplate
  • Two dimensional standards competing inside one plant
  • Impeller blockage on water carrying suspended solids
  • Spares stores that grow with every new pump brand

Advantages

Why This Category Is Built the Way It Is

  • B73.1 dimensional interchangeFoot pattern, centreline height, flange positions and shaft extension all follow the standard.
  • ANSI B16.5 flanges150LB and 300LB, flat face or raised face, to match the pipe class already installed.
  • Full open impellerChosen for waste and water treatment duties where a closed impeller would collect fibre.
  • Four power framesS, M, L and XL, so the shaft and bearings are sized to the duty rather than to a single compromise.

Typical Application Scenarios

  • Replacing an obsolete ANSI pump without touching the civil work
  • Screened sewage and return sludge transfer inside a treatment works
  • Clear well and filter backwash duties on a potable water plant
  • General plant water service on an ANSI-standard site

Questions

ANSI Water Centrifugal Pumps FAQ

Does an ANSI pump fit an existing ANSI baseplate?

If both pumps are the same B73.1 size designation, yes. The standard fixes the foot bolt pattern, centreline height and flange positions precisely so that replacement does not require new civil work.

Why an open impeller rather than a closed one?

Open impellers suit water carrying suspended solids because there is no rear shroud for fibre to wrap behind, and the running clearance can be reset externally as the pump wears.

Which flange rating do you supply?

ANSI B16.5 150LB and 300LB, both in flat face and raised face. Tell us the line rating and we will match it.

What is the largest ANSI pump you supply?

The CN series runs from 1 inch to 10 inch with capacity to 400 m³/h.
