Manufacturing and Quality

How It Is Made and Checked

Compounding extrusion radiation cross linking expansion and test all under one roof in Dalian

  1. 01

    Compounding

Base polyolefin antioxidants flame retardants and functional fillers are mixed to a recipe held under our own formulation control rather than bought as a masterbatch.

  2. 02

    Extrusion

The compound is extruded to the required wall and diameter. Co extruded products form two or three layers in a single pass so no interface can trap air.

  3. 03

    Radiation Cross Linking

Electron beam irradiation creates the cross linked network that gives the material its shape memory. This step is what makes the product heat shrinkable.

  4. 04

    Expansion

The cross linked part is heated expanded to its supplied diameter and cooled under tension so the expanded shape is locked in until heat is applied again.

  5. 05

    Test and Inspection

More than 90 percent of product performance tests are carried out in our own laboratory including tensile elongation heat aging dielectric strength and tracking resistance.

  6. 06

    Packing and Traceability

Each batch carries a production record so a delivered part can be traced back to its compound lot and process parameters.

Use Guide

How to Select and Install S1-35

The sequence our engineers walk customers through on every first installation

  1. 01

Confirm the Voltage Class and Colour Scheme

Order by voltage class first then allocate colours per phase.

  2. 02

    Measure Diagonal and Perimeter

The tube clears the diagonal and recovers onto the perimeter.

  3. 03

    Deburr and Degrease

Sharp edges cut the tube and oil prevents a clean fit.

  4. 04

    Shrink from the Centre Outward

Air escapes at both ends and the tube stays square.

  5. 05

    Cover Bolted Joints Separately

Use S1-B molded lap joint covers.

  6. 06

    Inspect for Full Conformity

No trapped air no wrinkles and no exposed metal at the ends.

FAQ

S1-35 Frequently Asked Questions

The questions buyers ask before they place an order

Can I mix S1-35 tube with S1-B covers
Yes. That is the normal combination. Tube covers the straight bar runs and molded covers close the bolted lap joints.
Is the tube suitable for outdoor kiosk substations
Yes. The service range is -40 to 105 °C which covers unheated outdoor enclosures.
Is it halogen free
No. For halogen free specify S1(n)-35. S1-35 is the flame retardant grade with four colour options.
What bar sizes can it cover
The dimension table below lists the range. Send us the bar width thickness and any joint dimensions and we will size it.
Can it be applied to an installed bar
Only if the bar can be disconnected at one end. Otherwise use S1-A wrap around cover or S1-B molded covers.
Do you supply a kit for a complete switchboard
Yes. Send the busbar drawing and we will quote all tube lengths and joint covers as one package.
