Product Overview

What C102-35 Does

Stress control heat shrink tube.Electrical stress control protection of power cable termination and joint under 36kV.

The 36 kV stress control layer with a dielectric constant of 25 to 50 for 26/35 kV terminations and joints It is manufactured by Dalian United Polymer Material Co., Ltd. in Dalian China where radiation cross linking extrusion and molding are all performed in house under one quality system.

Key Benefits

  • A stress control grade matched specifically to 26/35 (40.5) kV service
  • Volume resistivity of 1.0×10⁹ Ω·cm or higher so the layer grades the field without leaking
  • Consistent extruded geometry that removes jointer variability at the highest distribution voltage
  • Nine sizes from 26/10 mm to 95/45 mm covering the full 35 kV conductor range
  • Single wall or adhesive lined dual wall depending on whether sealing is required

Who It Is For

Who Benefits Most from C102-35

The buyers and site teams this product was designed around

35 kV Accessory Kit Assemblers

Problems It Solves

Problems This Product Removes

Every one of these is a failure mode we have seen on real networks

Field Strength at 35 kV Overwhelms a 24 kV Grade Tube

A stress control layer sized for 24 kV does not redistribute the field far enough at 35 kV. C102-35 raises the dielectric constant to 25 to 50 for the higher class.

Longer Overlaps Demand a Thicker Consistent Wall

Recovered wall thickness runs 2.7 to 3.4 mm so the layer keeps its function across the whole overlap length.

Higher Permittivity Can Mean Higher Losses

Loss factor at 50 Hz is held to 1.0 or below at 1000 V so the layer does not heat itself in continuous service.

Mixing 24 kV and 36 kV Stock Causes Field Errors

Clear part number separation between C102-10 and C102-35 prevents a crew fitting the wrong grade.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Used

35 kV Termination Screen Cut Back

The primary field grading layer in a C35 indoor or outdoor termination.

35 kV Joint Screen Interruption

Field control on both sides of a straight through joint.

Substation Cable Box Terminations

Compact field grading where a stress cone would not fit.

Collector Circuit Terminations

Repeated terminations at solar and wind switching stations.

Laboratory Qualification Samples

Building 35 kV type test specimens.

Manufacturing and Quality

How It Is Made and Checked

Compounding extrusion radiation cross linking expansion and test all under one roof in Dalian

  1. 01

    Compounding

Base polyolefin antioxidants flame retardants and functional fillers are mixed to a recipe held under our own formulation control rather than bought as a masterbatch.

  2. 02

    Extrusion

The compound is extruded to the required wall and diameter. Co extruded products form two or three layers in a single pass so no interface can trap air.

  3. 03

    Radiation Cross Linking

Electron beam irradiation creates the cross linked network that gives the material its shape memory. This step is what makes the product heat shrinkable.

  4. 04

    Expansion

The cross linked part is heated expanded to its supplied diameter and cooled under tension so the expanded shape is locked in until heat is applied again.

  5. 05

    Test and Inspection

More than 90 percent of product performance tests are carried out in our own laboratory including tensile elongation heat aging dielectric strength and tracking resistance.

  6. 06

    Packing and Traceability

Each batch carries a production record so a delivered part can be traced back to its compound lot and process parameters.

Use Guide

How to Select and Install C102-35

The sequence our engineers walk customers through on every first installation

  1. 01

    Confirm the Voltage Class

Use C102-35 only at 26/35 (40.5) kV class. For 24 kV and below use C102-10.

  2. 02

    Prepare a Square Screen Edge

At 35 kV a ragged screen edge is unforgiving. Dress the edge and remove all burrs.

  3. 03

    Set a Generous Overlap

Follow the C35 kit drawing. Overlaps at 35 kV are longer than at 15 kV.

  4. 04

Remove Every Trace of Semiconductive Material

Any residue on the insulation surface becomes a discharge site at this voltage.

  5. 05

    Shrink from the Screen Outward

Drive trapped air away from the screen interface which is the highest stress point.

  6. 06

    Cover with Insulation

Apply C101 non tracking tube or the kit insulating layers over the stress control tube before the termination is complete.

FAQ

C102-35 Frequently Asked Questions

The questions buyers ask before they place an order

Can I use C102-35 on a 15 kV circuit
It will work but it is not the economic choice and the higher permittivity is unnecessary. C102-10 is the correct grade at 24 kV and below.
Why does the higher grade have lower volume resistivity
A higher dielectric constant is achieved with a higher filler loading which lowers volume resistivity to 1.0×10⁹ Ω·cm. That value is still high enough that the layer grades the field rather than conducting.
What sizes are available
Nine sizes from 26/10 mm to 95/45 mm with recovered wall thickness from 2.7 to 3.4 mm.
Is adhesive lined dual wall available
Yes. Specify single wall or adhesive lined when you order. Adhesive lined is used where the layer must also seal.
How is heat aging performance verified
After 168 hours at 136 °C the tensile strength must remain at 10 MPa or above and ultimate elongation at 250 percent or above under ASTM D2671.
Do you supply a datasheet for approval submissions
Yes. Ask on WhatsApp or by email and we will send the full technical datasheet and test data.
