Product Overview
What C1 Does
Single core, 2 cores, 3 cores, 4 cores and 5 cores cable accessories. Suitable for protection of indoor and outdoor electric power cable joint and termination up to 1kV.
Complete 1 kV termination and joint kits for 1 to 6 core cable from 4 mm² to 400 mm² supplied as a single part number It is manufactured by Dalian United Polymer Material Co., Ltd. in Dalian China where radiation cross linking extrusion and molding are all performed in house under one quality system.
Key Benefits
- One part number per cable configuration so purchasing and site stores stay simple
- No cure time no mixing and no shelf life problem in cold or humid conditions
- Sealed against moisture ingress at the gland the breakout and the lug barrel
- A jointer with a gas torch and a knife can complete the work with no special tooling
- Kits carry the same construction indoors and outdoors so training does not change per site
Who It Is For
Who Benefits Most from C1
The buyers and site teams this product was designed around
Distribution Network Contractors
Crews terminating 1 kV feeders in street cabinets pillar boxes and distribution boards need one carton per joint rather than a shopping list of loose parts.
Panel Builders and Switchboard OEMs
Incoming LV cable terminations inside assembled panels have to be repeatable across production batches and traceable for the type test file.
Building Services and Facility Contractors
Riser cables submains and generator tails in commercial buildings where a jointer works in a shaft with no space for a bulky resin mould.
Solar and Storage EPC
DC and AC collection cable between combiner boxes inverters and LV transformers where hundreds of identical terminations are made in a few weeks.
Problems It Solves
Problems This Product Removes
Every one of these is a failure mode we have seen on real networks
Loose Part Kitting Wastes Hours on Site
Buying tube boots lugs and mastic separately means a jointer discovers a missing item at the bottom of a trench. C1 ships every consumable for one termination or joint in one bag with a pack list.
Resin Joints Need Cure Time and a Level Surface
Two part resin will not cure reliably at low ambient temperature and cannot be re-entered. A heat shrink joint is energisable as soon as it cools.
Multi Core Breakouts Are the Usual Failure Point
Water tracks into the crutch of a 4 or 5 core cable. C1 kits include a molded breakout boot with adhesive on the big end and every leg.
Mixed Conductor Sizes on One Project
Six conductor bands from 4 to 400 mm² and six core counts means one product family covers a whole LV network rather than five suppliers.
Application Scenarios
Where It Is Used
Street Cabinets and Pillar Boxes
Terminating 4 core 95 to 240 mm² XLPE service cable where the enclosure is small and damp.
Submain and Riser Terminations
Building risers where 5 core cable enters a distribution board and the breakout must be sealed.
Straight Through Joints in Duct
Repairing or extending a 1 kV feeder inside a duct where a resin mould will not sit level.
Generator and UPS Tails
Flexible and armoured tails at generator sets where vibration and heat cycling attack a taped joint.
Solar AC Collection Circuits
Repeated identical terminations at inverter stations and LV combiner cabinets.

Manufacturing and Quality
How It Is Made and Checked
Compounding extrusion radiation cross linking expansion and test all under one roof in Dalian
-
01
Compounding
Base polyolefin antioxidants flame retardants and functional fillers are mixed to a recipe held under our own formulation control rather than bought as a masterbatch.
-
02
Extrusion
The compound is extruded to the required wall and diameter. Co extruded products form two or three layers in a single pass so no interface can trap air.
-
03
Radiation Cross Linking
Electron beam irradiation creates the cross linked network that gives the material its shape memory. This step is what makes the product heat shrinkable.
-
04
Expansion
The cross linked part is heated expanded to its supplied diameter and cooled under tension so the expanded shape is locked in until heat is applied again.
-
05
Test and Inspection
More than 90 percent of product performance tests are carried out in our own laboratory including tensile elongation heat aging dielectric strength and tracking resistance.
-
06
Packing and Traceability
Each batch carries a production record so a delivered part can be traced back to its compound lot and process parameters.

Comparison
How C1 Compares
An honest comparison so you can rule this product in or out quickly
| Method | Time to Energise | Cold Weather | Re-entry | Skill Needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C1 heat shrink kit | Minutes after cooling | Works to -55 °C in service | Cut and replace | Torch skill only |
| Two part resin joint | Hours of cure | Cure slows or fails below 5 °C | Not possible | Mixing discipline |
| Cold shrink | Immediate | Good | Limited | Correct core size critical |
| Tape only | Immediate | Poor adhesion | Easy but unreliable | High and inconsistent |
Use Guide
How to Select and Install C1
The sequence our engineers walk customers through on every first installation
-
01
Confirm the Cable Data
Record voltage class conductor cross section in mm² core count insulation type and whether the position is a termination or a joint.
-
02
Pick the Part Number
Read the selection table below. Terminations start NSY and joints start JSY. The last digits encode core count and conductor band.
-
03
Prepare the Cable
Strip the outer sheath to the length on the kit instruction sheet remove armour bedding and clean the core insulation with the supplied wipe.
-
04
Fit the Breakout and Cores
Slide the breakout boot to the crutch then shrink from the centre outward so trapped air is driven ahead of the flame.
-
05
Crimp and Insulate
Crimp lugs or connectors then apply the insulating tubes with a soft yellow flame moving constantly around the circumference.
-
06
Finish and Check
Confirm adhesive has flowed at every end and that no wrinkle or burn mark remains then allow the joint to cool before energising.
