Who It Is For
Who Benefits Most from S3
The buyers and site teams this product was designed around
Shipyards and Marine Electrical Contractors
Cable connections on vessels sit in salt laden humid air and must be flame retardant.
Offshore Oil and Gas Operators
Platform cabling faces salt spray hydrocarbon exposure and strict fire requirements.
Harbour and Port Authorities
Quayside power cabling in a constantly wet salt environment.
Underground Utility Contractors
Direct buried and duct installations where the position stays wet.
Problems It Solves
Problems This Product Removes
Every one of these is a failure mode we have seen on real networks
Marine Environments Destroy Ordinary Tubing
Continuous salt exposure plus UV plus humidity attacks the polymer. The S3 formulation is built for that duty.
Fire Performance Is Regulated on Vessels
Classification society rules require flame retardant materials in cable systems on ships and platforms.
Wet Underground Positions Never Dry Out
A tube that absorbs water loses dielectric strength. Water absorption is held low by the formulation.
Cold Weather Cracking on Deck
Low temperature flexibility down to -55 °C in service means the tube does not crack on a winter deck.
Application Scenarios
Where It Is Used
Vessel Cable Connections
Power and control cable joints and terminations on ships.
Offshore Platform Cabling
Deck and module cabling exposed to salt spray.
Shipyard Temporary and Permanent Power
Yard distribution in a wet salt environment.
Harbour and Quayside Power
Shore supply and crane cabling.
Underground and Duct Installations
Wet buried positions on land.

Manufacturing and Quality
How It Is Made and Checked
Compounding extrusion radiation cross linking expansion and test all under one roof in Dalian
-
01
Compounding
Base polyolefin antioxidants flame retardants and functional fillers are mixed to a recipe held under our own formulation control rather than bought as a masterbatch.
-
02
Extrusion
The compound is extruded to the required wall and diameter. Co extruded products form two or three layers in a single pass so no interface can trap air.
-
03
Radiation Cross Linking
Electron beam irradiation creates the cross linked network that gives the material its shape memory. This step is what makes the product heat shrinkable.
-
04
Expansion
The cross linked part is heated expanded to its supplied diameter and cooled under tension so the expanded shape is locked in until heat is applied again.
-
05
Test and Inspection
More than 90 percent of product performance tests are carried out in our own laboratory including tensile elongation heat aging dielectric strength and tracking resistance.
-
06
Packing and Traceability
Each batch carries a production record so a delivered part can be traced back to its compound lot and process parameters.

Use Guide
How to Select and Install S3
The sequence our engineers walk customers through on every first installation
-
01
Confirm the Fire Specification
Marine and offshore work is normally specified flame retardant. Enclosed public routes are normally specified halogen free. Check which applies before ordering.
-
02
Choose Adhesive Lined for Wet Positions
Any marine or buried position should use the adhesive lined version.
-
03
Size for the Diameter Span
3:1 and 4:1 ratios let one size cover a wide range. Measure the largest and smallest points.
-
04
Prepare a Salt Contaminated Surface Properly
Wash off salt deposits and dry the surface before wiping with solvent or the adhesive will not bond.
-
05
Allow for 135 °C Recovery
The recovery temperature is higher than the halogen free grades. Allow a little more heat time.
-
06
Verify the Seal
A continuous adhesive bead at both ends is essential in a marine position.
