Decisions to Make Before You Order
Size and Viewing Distance
A1 and A2 are read across a room or from the street and need large, simple type. A3 and A4 are counter and noticeboard sizes read at arm's length and can carry detail. A5 works as a handbill. Choose the size from where the poster will be read, then set the type accordingly.
Paper Weight and Stock
Lightweight stock suits short-life fly-posting in volume. 150gsm and up hangs flat and resists curling for in-store display. Coated gloss stock lifts photographic colour; uncoated takes handwriting and reads as more editorial. Say where the poster hangs and we will suggest the weight.
Offset or Digital
Digital wins on short runs, versioned artwork and speed - 1-2 working days. Offset wins on quantity and colour consistency, at 4-5 working days for a regular commercial run. The crossover depends on size and quantity, so send both figures and we will quote the cheaper route.
Artwork Setup
Supply PDF, AI, PSD or JPEG at 300dpi minimum at final size with fonts saved as outlines, and include 3mm bleed if the image runs to the trim. A photo scaled up to A1 from a web image will not hold - check the resolution at the finished dimensions, not on screen.

Can you print different store names or dates on each poster?
Yes, on digital printing - there are no plates to change, so versioned artwork runs in the same pass. Send the master file plus a list of the variable text, and confirm which element changes on which quantity.
Will my posters survive being displayed in a window in sunlight?
Paper posters are for indoor and short-term display; direct sun will fade any uncoated sheet over time. If the poster has to last outdoors or be wiped down, look at our PVC posters instead, which are printed UV on a durable substrate.
How do large posters ship without creasing?
Large formats normally ship rolled in tubes; smaller sizes ship flat in boxes. Tell us at quote stage which you need, because rolled posters need to hang for a while before they sit flat on a wall.
Can you laminate or add a spot finish?
Yes - matt or gloss lamination for handling life, and spot UV or foil stamping where a headline or logo needs to lift off the sheet. Both are set up at quote stage because they change the paper choice and the schedule.
How do you handle brand colours across a long run?
A PDF proof is issued for approval, and hard copy digital proofs are available on request so you can sign off the actual colour. Finished sheets are then hand checked against that approved artwork, and work is redone if it does not meet the agreed requirement.
