MT-RJ/UPC-MT-RJ/UPC SM Duplex Patchcord is part of the fiber optic patchcord range built by Ever Expresslink Limited in Ningbo, China. It is built on the MT-RJ interface.
The singlemode or multimode MT-RJ fiber cable available from Huihong are used in two fiber applications and are well suited for high density applications. The MT-RJ fiber patch connectors utilize precision molded MT ferrules pioneered by NTT, together with precision metal guide pins and precise housing dimensions to ensure fiber alignment when mating. The MT-RJ fiber cable is reliable and simple to terminate.
It gives a duplex link in one small connector, so it turned up widely in office LAN equipment and faceplate outlets. Male and female variants differ by the presence of guide pins. Ordering the wrong gender is the usual MT-RJ mistake.
Single-mode fiber carries one propagation mode in a 9 µm core, so pulse spreading stays low and the link budget is set by loss rather than dispersion. Use it for access, metro and long-haul spans, for PON distribution and for anything that has to survive a future speed upgrade.
UPC is an ultra-physical-contact polish: a domed, highly polished end face that presses fiber core to fiber core. It is the default for most data, enterprise and general telecom patching.
