Custom Cable Assembly Program
From a drawing or a sample to repeatable production, with the specification held between orders
Most assembly problems are not manufacturing problems, they are specification problems discovered late. This program front-loads the decisions that are expensive to change later: connector and polish at each end, fiber type, jacket, length tolerance, labeling and packing.
Stage By Stage
Each stage exists because of a specific way these programs go wrong when it is skipped.
Requirement capture
The risk: Nobody has the full picture at the start
We work from the equipment port, the frame port and the environment rather than from a catalog number, and we ask for the sample if one exists.
Specification
The risk: Ambiguity in a written spec becomes a wrong part later
Connector, polish, mode, core size, jacket, length tolerance, boot, labeling and packing are all fixed in writing before anything is built.
Sampling
The risk: Fit problems only appear in the real panel
Sample assemblies are built and sent for you to install in the actual equipment, with measured loss values supplied.
Production
The risk: Consistency matters more than any single unit
Orders are built against the agreed specification with insertion loss and return loss measured on each assembly.
Inspection and test
The risk: A cord that looks right can still be out of spec
End-face geometry is inspected before test, and units that fail either stage do not reach the packing bench.
Packing and labeling
The risk: Unlabelled cords become an undocumented patch field
Cords are capped, bagged and labeled to your scheme, packed for the way the order will actually be distributed.
Repeat supply
The risk: The second order is the one that usually drifts
The build record is held against your part number so a later order matches the qualified one.

Custom Cable Assembly Program Questions
What do you need from us to start?
The connector and polish at each end, the fiber mode and core size, the length, the jacket requirement and how the cords will be labeled. A sample of the existing part answers most of those at once.
Can you match an assembly we already buy elsewhere?
Yes, and sending the physical sample is far more reliable than sending a description. Fit into your own panels and equipment is the part a written specification usually misses.
Are sample assemblies tested?
Yes, and the measured values are supplied with them so your engineering team can verify before volume is committed.
How is consistency maintained on repeat orders?
The agreed build specification is held against your part number, so the third order is built the same way as the qualified first one.
