Automation Packaging Machines
Packing automation sized to the line feeding it so throughput is not lost at the back end
Overview
What This Machine Does
The back end of a line is where throughput quietly disappears. An automated process feeding a manual packing bench runs at the speed of the bench, and the capital already spent upstream never delivers what it promised.
Delkotech builds packaging and package handling equipment sized to the line it serves: collating, placing, closing and palletising at the rate the upstream process actually produces, with the changeover time treated as part of the specification rather than an afterthought.
Material and package handling is named directly in Delkotech's published scope of services, alongside parts feeding and equipment validation.
From the original specification: Automation packaging machines are listed among Delkotech's services, and material and package handling is named in the published scope of services.

Key Benefits
What It Changes on Your Floor
Matched to the upstream rate
The packing station is sized to the process feeding it, which is the only way the line rate is real.
Consistent pack presentation
Count, orientation and closure repeat, which matters when a customer audits incoming goods.
Changeover as a specification
Pack format changes are designed as a timed operation rather than discovered on the floor.
Labour released
Operators move from repetitive packing to supervision and quality work.
Fewer damage claims
Controlled handling at the pack step removes the drops and crush damage that manual handling produces at the end of a shift.
Application Scenarios
Where It Is Used
Case packing and collation
Grouping product into a pack at the rate the line produces it.
Package closing and sealing
Closing packs consistently so the seal is not operator dependent.
Palletising and layer building
Building pallets to a pattern rather than by eye.
Package handling and transfer
Moving finished packs between the line, the buffer and despatch.
Who It Is For
Plants That Ask for This Machine
- Plants whose automated process is bottlenecked at manual packing
- Producers running several pack formats who lose time at changeover
- Manufacturers receiving damage or count complaints from customers
- Operations trying to release labour from repetitive end of line work
Problems It Solves
The bench sets the line rate
Upstream capacity that cannot be shipped is capacity you paid for and do not have.
Count and orientation errors
Manual collation produces short packs and mixed orientation, and both generate customer claims.
Slow changeover
An undesigned format change can cost more time per week than the rate improvement gained.
End of shift damage
Handling quality falls with fatigue, and it falls fastest at the end of the line.
Technical Features
How It Is Built
Collation and count control
Product grouped and counted mechanically so short packs are prevented rather than detected.
Format changeover
Change parts and recipes arranged so a format change is a defined, timed operation.
Pack closing
Consistent closure with the method selected for your packaging material.
Palletising pattern control
Layer patterns stored and selected at the HMI.
Line handshake
Integrated with the upstream process so the two agree on rate and stoppages.
Guarded access
Guarding arranged so material replenishment does not require defeating it.
Specifications
Specification Sheet
Delkotech builds to order, so dimensional and performance values are set against your part at design review, then measured and recorded before shipment. Values not yet fixed for your project are marked TBC rather than guessed.

Manufacturing Process
From Enquiry to Commissioned Machine
Line and format study
Upstream rate, pack formats, changeover frequency and despatch requirements are recorded from your actual operation.
Concept and layout
Machine concept laid out against your floor space and the equipment either side.
Design
Mechanical, control and safety design carried out together.
Build
Manufactured and assembled at the Vaughan facility.
Rate and changeover proving
Run to rate with your product, and changeover timed for every format.
Installation and training
Installed, interfaced and handed over with changeover training.
Quality Control
What Is Checked Before It Ships
- Rate measured over a continuous run, not a peak cycle
- Changeover timed for every specified format and recorded
- Count accuracy verified across a full batch
- Pack quality checked against your own acceptance criteria
- Safety functions and replenishment access verified before shipment
Certifications
Compliance Position
Built to be validated to current regulatory standards. Where the product is food or similar, material and finish requirements are agreed at design review. Project specific certificates are TBC until contract stage.
Customization Options
- Throughput sized to the process feeding it
- Change parts for every pack format you run
- Manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic operation
- Palletising patterns stored per product
- Integration with existing conveyors and despatch
- Materials and finishes specified for food or hygiene requirements
Comparison
Compared With the Alternatives
| Manual packing bench | Flexible and cheap to change, but it sets the line rate and its quality falls through the shift. |
|---|---|
| Standard case packer | Economical when your product and pack match it. Changeover and odd formats are where the fit usually breaks. |
| Robot palletising only | Solves the pallet but leaves collation and closing manual, so the bottleneck often just moves. |
Use Guide
Running It Well
Time your changeovers
Recording actual changeover time per format shows where a change part is worth redesigning.
Replenish through the designed access
The guarding allows material replenishment. Opening anything else stops the cycle for a reason.
Check count at batch start
One verified pack at the start of a batch confirms the right format is loaded.
Keep change parts identified
Clearly marked change parts stored by format prevent the wrong part being fitted under time pressure.
Questions
Automation Packaging Machines Questions
What throughput can the machine achieve?
It is sized to the process feeding it. Tell us your upstream rate and pack formats and the machine is specified to match, then proved at rate before shipment.
How long does a format changeover take?
Changeover time is treated as a specification, agreed at design review and then timed for every format during try out. That number is recorded in the handover documents.
Can it handle several pack sizes?
Yes. Formats are handled with change parts and stored recipes. Send the full range at enquiry so every format is designed in rather than added later.
Can it integrate with our existing conveyors?
Yes. We need the make, model and available signals of the equipment either side, then the handshake is designed in.
Is it suitable for food products?
Material and finish requirements for food contact are agreed at design review. Tell us the product and any hygiene standard you work to at enquiry.
What about palletising?
Palletising and layer pattern control can be included in the same scope, with patterns stored per product and selected at the HMI.
