Solution

Robotics

Robot cells scoped as complete systems, not as an arm on a plinth

Why This Matters

Delkotech integrates robotic motion into production cells for assembly, handling and inspection. The arm is one line item. The tooling, presentation, guarding, controls and cycle around it are the project.

How It Runs

The Sequence We Follow

Five stages, in this order. Skipping one is what makes the others expensive.

  1. Application study

Reach, payload, orientation and cycle are checked against the real part and the real floor space before a robot is selected.

  2. End of arm tooling

Grippers and vacuum tooling are designed for your part family, including the awkward variant that only runs twice a year.

  3. Presentation

Parts have to arrive in a known position. Feeders, nests and fixtures are designed so the robot is not compensating for chaos.

  4. Safety and guarding

Fencing, light curtains and interlocks are laid out with operator access and maintenance access both considered.

  5. Integration and rate proving

The cell is run to rate with your parts before it ships, and again after installation.

Outcomes

What You Have Afterwards

  • A cell that holds its cycle time with your actual parts
  • Tooling that covers the part family, not only the sample
  • Safe operator and maintenance access designed in
  • One supplier accountable for the whole cell

Questions

Robotics Questions

What does Robotics cover at Delkotech?

Delkotech integrates robotic motion into production cells for assembly, handling and inspection. The arm is one line item. The tooling, presentation, guarding, controls and cycle around it are the project.

Is this sold separately from the machine?

It is part of how the machine is built rather than an add on. Where you already have equipment and want only this capability applied to it, that is scoped as its own project.

Who do you work with on our side?

Usually engineering, maintenance and, depending on the capability, your IT or quality group. Agreeing the interfaces with those people early is what prevents the disagreements at commissioning.

What do we get at handover?

Documentation that matches what was built: the sequence of operation, as built drawings, test records and any data or network arrangements described rather than merely listed.

How do we start?

Email [email protected] describing the line and what you need it to do. We will tell you what is achievable on the equipment you have and what would need new hardware.
