CNC Silicon Window Machines
Programmed sealant and glazing machines for window and glass panel production
Overview
What This Machine Does
Window and glazed panel production depends on a sealant bead that is continuous, correctly sized and in the right place. Applied by hand it varies with operator, temperature and how late in the shift it is, and the failure shows up as a leak long after the unit has shipped.
A CNC silicon window machine carries the applicator on programmed axes over the panel, so the bead path, the speed and the material delivery are all controlled. The panel is located on the table and the program does the rest.
The photograph on this page shows a large glazed panel on the bed of a machine built at the Vaughan facility. Delkotech builds these for the panel formats the customer actually produces, including the large sizes that will not fit a standard table.
From the original specification: CNC silicon window machines are listed among Delkotech's services, with CNC silicon window machine isolating and CNC silicon window machine glass appearing as delivered projects.

Key Benefits
What It Changes on Your Floor
Continuous bead
A programmed path does not stop to reposition, which removes the joins and thin spots where seals fail.
Correct bead size
Material delivery is coordinated with path speed, so the bead stays the specified size on straights and around corners.
Large format capability
Table and gantry sized to your panel rather than to a catalogue maximum.
Programmable panel range
A new panel size is a program, not a re-fixture.
Material used, not wasted
Controlled delivery reduces the over application that hand bead work uses as insurance.
Application Scenarios
Where It Is Used
Insulating glass unit sealing
Applying the perimeter seal on double and triple glazed units.
Window frame glazing
Applying sealant into the frame profile before glass placement.
Structural glazing panels
Bead application on panels where the seal is part of the structural assembly.
Isolation and spacer application
Placing isolating material in a programmed path around the panel.
Who It Is For
Plants That Ask for This Machine
- Window and insulating glass manufacturers running mixed panel sizes
- Producers of large format glazed panels that no standard table will take
- Fabricators with seal related warranty returns they cannot trace to a cause
- Plants where sealant consumption is higher than the calculated bead volume
Problems It Solves
Bead variation
Hand applied bead varies with speed, angle and fatigue. A programmed path does not.
Joins and thin spots
Every stop and restart in a hand applied bead is a potential leak path.
Panel size limits
A standard machine that cannot take your largest panel forces the biggest, most valuable units back to hand work.
Material overuse
Applying a generous bead as insurance is expensive across a year of production.
Technical Features
How It Is Built
Programmed applicator path
Bead path stored as a program per panel size and selected at the HMI.
Coordinated material delivery
Delivery synchronised with path speed so bead size holds through corners.
Panel location on the table
Locating arrangement designed for the panel formats you run.
Large format table
Table and gantry span sized to your largest panel.
Recipe management
Programs organised by product so changeover is an operator selection.
Guarded working area
Access and guarding arranged around loading and unloading large panels.
Specifications
Specification Sheet
Delkotech builds to order, so dimensional and performance values are set against your part at design review, then measured and recorded before shipment. Values not yet fixed for your project are marked TBC rather than guessed.

Manufacturing Process
From Enquiry to Commissioned Machine
Panel range and material study
Panel formats, bead specification and sealant material are recorded from your production.
Table and gantry sizing
Sized to your largest panel and the available floor space.
Design
Mechanical, delivery, control and safety design carried out together.
Build
Manufactured and assembled at the Vaughan facility.
Bead proving
Programs created for your formats and bead proved on your material.
Installation and training
Installed and handed over with recipe training.
Quality Control
What Is Checked Before It Ships
- Axis positional accuracy measured across the full table and recorded
- Bead applied on customer panels and checked for continuity and size
- Corner behaviour checked specifically, because that is where bead size drifts
- Recipe recall verified for every stored panel format
- Safety functions verified before shipment
Certifications
Compliance Position
Machine is built to be validated to current regulatory standards. Delkotech does not certify the finished glazed unit against a glazing or insulating glass standard - that remains with the panel manufacturer. Project specific certificates are TBC until contract stage.
Customization Options
- Table and gantry sized to your largest panel
- Applicator selected for your sealant material
- Single or twin applicator arrangement
- Panel locating designed for mixed formats
- Integration with upstream frame or spacer equipment
- Recipe structure matched to your product coding
Comparison
Compared With the Alternatives
| Hand applied bead | Flexible for one off work, but variation, joins and material overuse are built into the method. |
|---|---|
| Standard sealing table | Economic when your panels fit it. The largest and most valuable panels are exactly the ones that usually do not. |
| Robot with a sealant applicator | Good for three dimensional paths. For a flat panel a gantry provides the span and stiffness more economically. |
Use Guide
Running It Well
Locate the panel on its stops
The program assumes the panel datum. A panel placed by eye puts the whole bead path out.
Watch material temperature
Sealant viscosity changes with temperature, and that changes bead size at constant delivery. Keep material conditioned.
Purge before the first panel
The first bead after a stop is the one most likely to be short. Purge and check before committing a panel.
Check corners on the first panel of a batch
Corners reveal a delivery and speed mismatch before the straights do.
Questions
CNC Silicon Window Machines Questions
What is the largest panel the machine can take?
The table and gantry are sized to your production. Tell us your largest panel format and the floor space available, and the machine is designed around it.
Which sealant materials can it apply?
Material is specified with you, because the delivery system is designed around the viscosity and cure behaviour of the material you use. Send the material data sheet at enquiry.
Can it handle several panel sizes?
Yes. Each format is stored as a program and selected at the HMI, so changing size is an operator action rather than a re-fixture.
How accurate is the bead path?
Positional accuracy is agreed at design review against your bead specification, then measured across the full table and recorded before shipment.
Does it mark the glass?
Table and support contact surfaces are specified non marking for finished glass. Tell us the panel finish at enquiry so the right materials are selected.
Can it be integrated with our existing line?
Yes. Give us the equipment either side and the signals available, and the handshake is designed in.
