Why This Matters
Safety on a custom machine is a design decision made early or an expensive retrofit made late. Delkotech treats guarding, access and interlocking as part of the machine layout, drawn before the frame is welded.
How It Runs
The Sequence We Follow
Five stages, in this order. Skipping one is what makes the others expensive.
Task and hazard review
Every task the machine requires, including loading, clearing a jam and changing tooling, is walked through and the hazards listed.
Layout for access
Guarding is positioned so the routine tasks can be done without defeating it. A guard operators have to bypass is not protecting anyone.
Protective devices
Interlocked gates, light curtains, two hand controls and emergency stops are selected for the task and wired into a safety circuit rather than the standard IO.
Verification
The safety functions are tested and the results recorded before the machine ships.
Documentation
The machine is handed over with the safety functions described, so your own assessment has something to reference.

It is part of how the machine is built rather than an add on. Where you already have equipment and want only this capability applied to it, that is scoped as its own project.
