HVAC & Sheet Metal Fabrication
Thin sheet, pre-punched holes, and very little material around the fixing.
The application
What makes this job different
Duct sections, electrical enclosures, control panels and signage substrates share one engineering reality: the sheet is thin and the hole is usually already in the part before the fastener arrives. That makes hole control the fabricator's job and pull-through the fastener's main risk.

Failure modes
Problems we are asked to solve — and what fixes them
Pull-through in thin gauge
A narrow head tears out of thin sheet. A truss head widens the bearing circle without adding height.
Swarf inside sealed assemblies
A drill point leaves chips. In a sealed duct or enclosure, a tapping screw into a pre-punched hole avoids them entirely.
Corrosion in humid plant rooms
304 stainless covers general humidity; 316 is specified where chlorides are present.
Visible fixings on fascias
Factory colour coating gives an even finish that site painting never matches.
Recommended lines
Fasteners specified for hvac & sheet metal fabrication

Truss Head Self-Tapping Screw
Wide low-profile truss head distributes load. Common in HVAC, electrical enclosures and signage.

Pan Framing Head Phillips Self-Tapping Screw
Pan framing head, Phillips drive. Slim profile for sheet metal framing and electrical box assembly.

Truss Head Self-Tapping Screw, Color Head
Color-coated truss head — for visible installations where finish color matters.

Truss Head Self-Drilling Screw
Wide truss head with Phillips drive. Distributes load on lath, mesh and thinner sheet materials.
