Surface Finish Selection
The right coating is the difference between a ten-year fixing and a two-year callback.
Overview
How it works
Finish is the specification customers most often get wrong, usually by carrying a coating across from an application it was never meant for. Indoor zinc on an exterior roof, plain electroplate in a livestock building, black phosphate on anything that will see water.

What you get
The detail that matters
White and yellow zinc
Electroplated finishes for dry interior service. Yellow chromate adds a step of protection and higher visual contrast.
Black and grey phosphate
Conversion coatings that cut drive friction and key joint compound. Dry interior only — they are not corrosion systems.
Magni and Ruspert
Applied and cured coating systems specified where an electroplate would fail: humid interiors, exterior exposure, coastal and agricultural atmospheres.
Colour polymer over zinc
RAL-matched appearance for visible roofing and cladding fixings, with a zinc base layer so a scratch does not start a rust bloom.
Stainless and bi-metal
304 and 316 for corrosive environments; bi-metal where a fixing has to be both stainless and self-drilling.
