Client Background
Window and insulating panel manufacturer
Project Challenge
Isolating material had to be placed accurately around the panel perimeter. Hand placement was slow, the position varied, and an inconsistent isolating layer undermined the thermal performance the unit was sold on.
Customer Pain Points
- Isolating material placed inconsistently around the perimeter
- Thermal performance depending on assembly technique
- Slow perimeter work on large panels
- No record of how a specific unit was assembled
- Rework discovered after the unit was closed

Our Solution
What We Built
A CNC machine applying the isolating material along a programmed perimeter path, with position and delivery controlled by the machine. Each panel format is stored as a program, and the path is proved on the customer's own material before the machine ships.
Manufacturing Process
How the Machine Was Built
Panel and material study
Formats, isolating material and placement specification recorded from the customer's production.
Path programming
Perimeter paths structured as programs per panel format.
Design and build
Machine designed and built at the Vaughan facility.
Application proving
Material applied on customer panels and checked against the specification.
Capability run
Continuous run to confirm consistency across formats.
Installation
Installed and handed over with recipe training.
Supply Chain Coordination
Sourcing and Build
Delivery components are selected for the isolating material specified by the customer. Panel support and contact surfaces are specified non marking where the panel carries a finished face.
Quality Control
Checked Before Shipment
- Path accuracy measured across the working area and recorded
- Material applied on customer panels and checked against the specification
- Corner and closure behaviour checked specifically
- Recipe recall verified for every stored format
- Safety functions verified before shipment
Final Result
What the Machine Does Now
The isolating layer is placed by a program rather than by hand, so the thermal assembly is consistent from panel to panel and across formats.
Customer Benefit
Why It Mattered
The performance the unit is sold on stopped depending on assembly technique.
Customer identity, panel formats and performance figures are not published. Technical discussion is available on request.

About This Project
Can you tell us who the customer was?
Customer identity, panel formats and performance figures are not published. Technical discussion is available on request.
Could you build the same machine for us?
Not identically, and that is the point. The machine was designed around one customer's part, rate and floor space. The same approach applied to your part produces a different machine.
How long did the project take?
Project duration depends on scope and the build schedule at the time. We are happy to give you a realistic schedule for your own requirement once the scope is defined.
What was proved before the machine shipped?
The checks listed in the quality control section of this page, run at the Vaughan facility. Customer witnessed try out before shipment can be arranged.
How do we start a similar project?
Email [email protected] with the part drawing, the operation and the rate. That is enough for a concept and a defined scope.

Talk to an engineer
Have a Similar Operation
Send the part and describe the step. We will tell you what the same approach would look like applied to your line.
