Questions About Stenter Chains

What does a stenter chain consist of?

Connectors, U-shaped connectors, pins, PEEK or standard bushes, dust cover screws, wear sleeves and other components. We sell them individually as well as assembled.

How often should I service the chain?

Clean the guide and chain at least once a year and add a high temperature grease. DuPont, Miller and Kluber greases are used by our customers for this.

When should I replace rather than service?

Gauge the chain pitch. While it is within tolerance, replacing wear parts is better value. Once elongation stops the pin bed being held in register, replace the chain.

What does a PEEK bush do?

It is the wear-resistant lining between the pin and the chain, replacing the original copper mesh lining. Because PEEK is self-lubricating it is more wear resistant and lasts longer.

Can you supply chain for compacting machines?

Yes, for Italian Ferraro and Lafer compactors, made to your sample.

How is chain length specified?

By your machine run. Tell us the section you are replacing and we build to it.
