What is PEEK?

Polyether ether ketone resin, a high performance special thermoplastic with excellent high temperature resistance, wear resistance, self-lubrication, low noise, corrosion resistance and high strength. It is widely used in textile machinery.

What is a PEEK nut, exactly?

It is the adjustable nut of the setting machine lead rod, the part that helps the guide rail to be widened. It is self-lubricating, does not require molybdenum disulfide, is not easy to break, and lasts longer.

What does a PEEK bush replace?

The original copper mesh lining between the pin and the chain. Because PEEK is self-lubricating it is more wear resistant and has a longer service life.

Can I retrofit PEEK to an existing chain?

Yes. Bushes and sliders are sold separately for exactly that. Convert a whole section at a time so heights stay uniform.

Do PEEK parts still need greasing?

The PEEK parts themselves are self-lubricating. The chain as a whole still needs its annual clean and a high temperature grease on the bearing side.

Does the guide rail need to be in good condition for PEEK sliders?

Yes. PEEK does not tolerate a scored rail as well as copper does, so inspect and dress the rail before converting.
