Stainless Pin Beds For Polyimide Film Stenter Lines

Polyimide film is a polymer film with high temperature resistance and chemical stability, commonly used in electronics, aerospace and other high technology applications for insulation, heat insulation and protection. The stenter lines that produce it run far hotter than any textile frame, and a textile pin plate will not survive there.

Pain Points

What Goes Wrong On These Lines

Temperature beyond textile specification

A standard textile pin plate is not made for these conditions. The plates we supply for PI film are high strength stainless steel, heat resistant up to 800 degrees and corrosion resistant.

Chemical aggression

PI film production combines high temperature with a chemically demanding environment, so corrosion resistance is not optional in the material choice.

Line speed and film tension

Pinning increases the tension on the polyimide film, and higher tension is what lets the line run faster. A tired pin bed limits throughput directly.

Bed geometry and film width

Film is unforgiving of stepped pin height. Renewing by section keeps the pin line straight along the whole film path.

What Customers Need

  • Pin plates in a material specified for the line temperature, not for a textile frame
  • Corrosion resistance alongside heat resistance
  • Pin arrangement specified for film thickness and width
  • Material certification passed through with the order

Our Delivery Capability

  • High strength stainless steel pin plates, heat resistant up to 800 degrees, corrosion resistant, fully adapted to PI film production
  • Pin arrangement specified for film thickness and width rather than taken from a textile standard
  • Base profile cut to your existing holder
  • Material certificates checked on incoming stock and passed through with the order

FAQ

Questions From Polyimide Film Lines Plants

What temperature can your PI film pin plates take?

They are made from high strength stainless steel and are heat resistant up to 800 degrees, which is what polyimide film production requires.

Why not use a standard textile pin plate?

The material will not survive the temperature and chemistry of a PI film line. The geometry may look similar but the specification is not.

Does pinning help on film as it does on fabric?

Yes. Pinning increases the tension on the polyimide film, which lets the line run faster.

Can you match our existing holder?

Yes. Send a sample plate or a drawing of the holder seat.

Do you supply material certificates?

Yes. We check the certificate on incoming stock and can pass it through with the order.

What is polyimide film used for?

Electronics, aerospace and other high technology applications, for insulation, heat insulation and protection.
