SC/SM Pigtail is part of the various pigtail range built by Ever Expresslink Limited in Ningbo, China. It is built on the SC (Subscriber Connector) interface.

It is the workhorse of FTTH and passive optical distribution: a technician can seat a port blind, inside a closure, wearing gloves, without rotating anything. SC bodies clip together into duplex pairs. Check polarity before you clip, because a reversed duplex clip is easy to build and hard to spot in a cabinet.

Single-mode fiber carries one propagation mode in a 9 µm core, so pulse spreading stays low and the link budget is set by loss rather than dispersion. Use it for access, metro and long-haul spans, for PON distribution and for anything that has to survive a future speed upgrade.
