Stocked SPTE strip cut to width for short runs and repeat packaging programs
Tinplate strip is electroplated tin coated low carbon steel supplied in narrow width for blanking, forming and seaming work. Packaging workshops, tin box makers and component shops call it up in SPCC, MR or SPCH against GB/T 2520-2008, JIS G3303-2008, DIN EN 10203-1991 or ASTM A623M-2011. Because the material is carried as inventory rather than rolled to order, a buyer with a short run or a repeat top up is not held behind a mill rolling program for a few tonnes of narrow strip. Gauge stays between 0.15-0.50mm inside a plus or minus 0.01 mm tolerance across the T2 to DR8 temper range, in batch annealed or continuous annealed condition.
Strip is carried in stock and slit against the order, so a small replenishment does not have to wait behind a mill rolling campaign. That suits shops running the same die every month on modest volumes.
SPCC, MR and SPCH are all available. A workshop producing food tins and industrial components can draw both from a single delivery instead of managing two suppliers.
T2, T2.5, T3, T3.5, T4 and T5 cover the softer forming work while DR7, DR7M and DR8 cover stiff thin gauge parts. Both ends of the range can be called off the same stock.
Thickness is supplied 0.15-0.50mm with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.01 mm, which keeps blanking clearance and forming behaviour the same between one delivery and the next.
Coating is available from 1.1 to 11.2 g/m2 on both faces, so light duty decorative parts and heavier duty food contact parts can be specified separately rather than averaged.
Narrow tinplate in modest tonnage rarely gets its own rolling slot. decoiling from carried inventory means a short run is a decoiling job rather than a mill campaign.
When a shop buys wherever stock appears, gauge and temper move and the die has to be reset. Holding one material, one temper and one tolerance band keeps the setup stable.
Ordering a wide coil for a narrow blank leaves trim in the yard and cash tied up. Strip slit to the finished width removes both.
Committing volume before a tool is proven is a risk. Taking a small quantity from stock to run a first article lets the die be signed off before a larger call off.
Small batch decorative tins and hinged boxes where runs are short and the ability to reorder a familiar width quickly matters more than tonnage price.
Rings, collars and small end shells for food packaging where sealing, preservation and light exclusion are the reason metal was chosen.
Closure and shell components for medicine tins that need a non-toxic corrosion resistant surface in contact with the pack.
Formed shells and covers for instrument packaging and small hardware items where the strip is blanked, folded and seamed.
Handles, ring bands and spout parts for paint, adhesive and chemical containers produced in repeating monthly batches.

| Mill rolled to order strip | Stock material is slit against the order, so a small replenishment does not have to wait for a rolling slot to open. |
|---|---|
| Wide tinplate coil | Buying at the finished strip width avoids paying for and storing trim that a narrow blanking job never uses. |
| Galvanized steel strip | The tin surface is non-toxic and solderable and takes printing directly, which zinc coated strip is not specified for in packaging duty. |
| Cold rolled uncoated strip | Tinplate arrives with its corrosion protection already on both faces, so no separate coating step is needed before forming. |
Strip is carried as inventory and slit against the order. That is why small and repeat quantities can be handled without waiting for a mill rolling program.
Thickness starts at 0.15mm and runs up to 0.50mm, held within plus or minus 0.01 mm. At the thin end the DR tempers are usually specified to keep the part rigid.
Yes. SPCC, MR and SPCH are all available, so a workshop making both food packs and industrial parts can take them on one shipment.
BA is batch annealed and CA is continuous annealed. Tell us how the part is formed and we will confirm which route suits the blank and draw you are running.
Yes. Give the width and the coil inner diameter your decoiler takes and the stock coil will be slit to match your existing setup.
ISO9001, BV, SGS and RoHS documentation covers the material, and the certificate can reference GB/T 2520-2008, JIS G3303-2008, DIN EN 10203-1991 or ASTM A623M-2011 as you require.
Yes. Taking a small quantity from stock to prove a die is a normal first step before a larger call off is agreed.
