What This Range Is For
Grade Named Three Different Ways
A drawing says SUS316L, a European spec says 1.4404 and the purchase order says 316L. All three refer to the same material and confusing them wastes a quotation round. The grade list here is cross referenced so the order can be placed in whichever system the drawing uses.
Splitting Welded and Seamless Between Suppliers
Pressure lines need seamless while handrails, frames and low pressure runs do not. Buying them separately doubles the freight and the documentation. Both techniques come from the same range here.
Carbon Steel Pipe Failing in Wet Service

Which standards can the pipe be supplied against?
ASTM A312, EN10216 and JIS G3463 are the standards quoted for this range. Tell us which one your drawing or inspection body works to and the material is ordered and certified against that standard.
What is the difference between ordering 316 and 316L here?
Both are held in the same grade list. 316L is the low carbon version and is usually specified where the pipe will be welded and then exposed to corrosive media, because it limits carbide precipitation at the weld. 316Ti is also available where a stabilized grade is preferred.
Can you supply square and rectangle pipe as seamless rather than welded?
Yes. Both seamless and welded stainless square pipe and rectangle pipe are in the range, so a frame that mixes a pressure section with a structural section can be covered by one order.
Do you hold duplex and super austenitic grades?
2205 duplex and 904L are both in the grade list along with 201, 202, 301, 304, 304L, 309S, 310S, 316, 316Ti, 316L, 410 and 430. Send the media and temperature and we will confirm which of these is appropriate.
