LC/SM Pigtail is part of the various pigtail range built by Ever Expresslink Limited in Ningbo, China. It is built on the LC (Lucent Connector) interface.

LC uses a 1.25 mm ferrule in an RJ-style latch body, giving roughly twice the port density of SC in the same panel width. Small form-factor transceivers are built around it, so LC is what a data-center or an access switch presents to you whether you wanted it or not.

Single-mode fiber carries one propagation mode in a 9 µm core, so pulse spreading stays low and the link budget is set by loss rather than dispersion. Use it for access, metro and long-haul spans, for PON distribution and for anything that has to survive a future speed upgrade.
