Product Overview

FC Connector MM is part of the fiber optic connector range built by Ever Expresslink Limited in Ningbo, China. It is built on the FC (Ferrule Connector) interface.

FC fiber products and FC fiber optic connectors are widely used on the equipment and cable assemblies, especially on the test equipment interface. FC is designed with cylindrical metal coupling nut with keyed sleeves, it is used in long haul and local network connections. FC fiber optic connector use 2.5mm ceramic ferrule and the FC ferrule are with pull-proof mechanism for durability.

Generally we use FC fiber optic connector the housing made by metal. Totally there are three types FC fiber connectors: single mode FC UPC FC fiber connector, single mode FC APC fiber connector and multimode FC UPC fiber connectors. UPC type connector boot usually is black color, APC boot is green color. We supply the FC fiber connectors which are compatible with IEC 61 754-143 standards, these products are good compatibility to use in telecommunications, CATV, LAN, WAN, medical and on test and measurement fiber optic devices.

FC uses a 2.5 mm zirconia ceramic ferrule inside a threaded metal coupling nut, so the mated pair is locked mechanically rather than held by a spring latch. FC needs the alignment key to seat in the adapter slot before the nut is tightened. Cross-threading a keyed FC is the single most common cause of high loss on an FC link.

Multimode fiber carries many modes in a 50 or 62.5 µm core, which makes alignment and coupling far more forgiving over short distances. Use it inside buildings, data halls and campus backbones where reach is short and low-cost VCSEL transceivers do the work.

Key Benefits

  • Supplied as FC Connector MM, so the part you receive matches the designation you ordered against
  • Multimode at 50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm: Use it inside buildings, data halls and campus backbones where reach is short and low-cost VCSEL transceivers do the work.
  • Bulk packing suited to production rather than single repairs
  • Compatible with standard epoxy and polish workflows
  • Consistent ferrule bore and geometry so polish recipes stay stable
  • Full connector range from one supplier and one order

Problems It Solves

  • Ferrule bore variation that shifts the polish result between batches
  • Housings that do not seat consistently in a given adapter brand
  • Spring force drift that changes physical contact under the same mating load
  • Sourcing separate parts for each connector type from separate suppliers

Application Scenarios

  • High-vibration cabinets
  • Building custom assemblies for a one-off project
  • Producing patch cords and pigtails on an assembly line
  • Re-terminating damaged cords on a repair bench
  • Integrating optical ports into OEM equipment

Who It Is For

  • Training centers and technical schools
  • Distributors supplying assembly consumables
  • Cable assembly houses producing their own cords and pigtails
  • OEM equipment makers integrating optical interfaces

Technical Features

  • FC (Ferrule Connector) interface
  • FC needs the alignment key to seat in the adapter slot before the nut is tightened. Cross-threading a keyed FC is the single most common cause of high loss on an FC link.
  • Multimode fiber at 50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm
  • Crimp sleeve and strain-relief boot supplied with the body
  • Standard-compliant housing dimensions for adapter interchangeability
  • Single-mode and multimode ferrule bore options
  • Zirconia ceramic ferrule with controlled bore diameter

Materials

  • Zirconia ceramic ferrule
  • Copper alloy crimp sleeve
  • Stainless or copper alloy body hardware
  • Thermoplastic housing and boot
  • Stainless compression spring

Compared With Other Options

SCSC seats faster with a push-pull motion; FC holds up better where the cabinet vibrates or ports get bumped
STST twists on with a bayonet in a quarter turn; FC's threaded nut takes longer but resists loosening
Single mode versionSingle mode costs more at the transceiver but carries reach and upgrade headroom that multimode cannot.
Use Guide

Handling FC Connector MM

Before You Order

  • Match ferrule bore to the fiber you are terminating
  • Follow the epoxy manufacturer's mix ratio and cure schedule
  • Polish in stages, inspecting the end face between stages

In Service

  • Verify geometry on an interferometer before the assembly is released
  • Measure insertion loss and return loss on the finished assembly
  • Store unused bodies capped and dry
FAQ

Questions About FC Connector MM

What do you need from us to quote FC Connector MM?

The quantity, the destination and anything that has to match on your side: connector and polish at each end, fiber mode and core size, and length where the item is an assembly. If you are matching a part you already buy, send the sample and we will quote against it.

Can FC Connector MM be supplied with a different connector interface?

Yes. FC (Ferrule Connector) is what this designation carries, and the same family is stocked across the other mainstream connector standards. Tell us the port you have to mate with and we will confirm the equivalent part.

Is FC Connector MM available in the other fiber mode?

This item is multimode. Core size has to match end to end. Mixing 62.5/125 and 50/125 in one channel costs several dB at the junction. The corresponding version in the other fiber mode is available; confirm the installed plant at both ends before ordering.

What polishing film do you recommend?

We supply polishing film alongside the connectors so the consumables come from one order. Grit sequence depends on your ferrule and polish target, which we can advise on for your process.

What are the minimum order quantities at component level?

Component-level items are normally sold in bulk packs. Send us the connector type and your annual usage and we will quote the pack size and price break that fits.
