Engineering notes
This is a structural connector, not a joinery screw. At M6 through M20 and up to 200 mm long it is specified and installed like a coilbolt or lag screw — driven with a socket on an impact wrench, carrying shear and withdrawal in a timber connection rather than simply clamping two panels.
The integral washer face under the hex is what makes it practical on site. It gives the bearing area a structural connection needs without a loose washer to drop off a scaffold, and it seats squarely on timber, on a steel plate, or on the joint between the two.
