Transfer Hot Melt Film
Wash resistant transfer film for fashion and sports suit heat transfer printing
| Form | Film |
|---|---|
| Working Temperature | 140-170 C |
| Width | 20-1500 mm |
| Roll Length | 100 metres |
What This Grade Is Built For
Transfer hot melt film for fashion garments and sports suits. It works between 140 and 170 C and is specified for excellent wash resistance, which is the property that decides whether a numbered sports jersey survives a season. Roll width runs from 20 mm up to 1500 mm, so the same film covers narrow tape for numbering and full width for panel work.
Key Benefits
- Excellent wash resistance — built for garments that are laundered repeatedly
- Working temperature 140-170 C suits standard cut and press transfer lines
- Width from 20 mm to 1500 mm, so narrow numbering tape and full width sheets come from one product
- 100 metre rolls keep changeovers down on long runs
- Clean cut edges for letters, numbers and logos
Buyers Who Specify This Grade
- Garment decorators producing team kit
- Heat transfer printers serving fashion brands
- Sportswear manufacturers decorating in house
What It Fixes On The Line
- Transfers that lift at the edge after industrial laundering
- Buying narrow tape and wide film from two different suppliers
- Films that need a press temperature the garment fabric cannot take
Application Scenarios
- Sports jersey numbering and lettering
- Team and club kit decoration
- Fashion garment transfer printing
- Sports suit panel decoration
How It Behaves In Process
- Excellent wash resistance
- Working temperature 140-170 C
- Width 20-1500 mm
- Roll length 100 metres
What It Is Made Of
Thermoplastic hot melt adhesive film. United Industry supplies thermoplastic adhesive film in TPU, PES, PA and EVA, from 50 to 200 micron.
Customisation
- Width is cut to order anywhere between 20 mm and 1500 mm. Other material bases — TPU, PES, PA, EVA — are available across the film range.
Published Data For Transfer Hot Melt Film
Only values published for this grade are listed. Where a value is grade specific rather than fixed, the data sheet issued with your quotation carries it.
| Form | Film |

How This Grade Is Applied
Step 01
Cut the film to the letter, number or panel shape
Step 02
Position on the garment
Step 03
Press at 140-170 C
Step 04
Cool and peel the carrier
Quality Control
Wash resistance is the defining property of this grade, so it is worth running your own wash cycle test on the actual garment fabric before a production run.
Use Guide
- Set the press inside 140-170 C and confirm with a wash test, not by eye
- Order the roll width closest to the finished shape to reduce waste
- Allow the transfer to cool before peeling unless the carrier is specified as hot peel
- Store rolls upright and sealed
How It Compares With The Alternatives
| Compared with | What changes |
|---|---|
| TPU hot melt adhesive film | The TPU film is the elastic seam sealing and lamination grade working from 110 C. This transfer film runs hotter and is specified for wash resistance. |
| TPU transfer powder | Powder follows a screen printed shape. Film is cut to a defined shape and gives a cleaner edge on letters and numbers. |
| Copolyester powder | Both target wash resistance; the film form removes the scatter and recovery steps from the line. |

Application Notes Featuring This Grade
Keeping A Transfer Intact On A High Stretch Garment
A transfer that passes the peel test on the press table and cracks on the body is not a bond strength problem. It is an elongation problem.
Application NoteMatching Transfer Powder Fraction To Screen Mesh
Most transfer powder complaints are not about the polymer. They are about a particle fraction that does not suit the mesh already on the line.

Choosing Hot Melt Adhesive Film Thickness And Width
With film, the coat weight is a specification rather than a process variable. Thickness, width and processing temperature are the three numbers to get right.
Process GuideTime Temperature And Pressure In Heat Transfer Printing
Three key components decide every heat press result. Every heat transfer material has its own instructions for all three, and most failures are one of them being wrong.
Transfer Hot Melt Film FAQ
What width can you supply
Anywhere from 20 mm to 1500 mm. Narrow widths suit numbering tape, wide widths suit panel work.
How long is a roll
100 metres.
What press temperature does it need
140 to 170 C.
Will the transfer survive industrial laundering
Excellent wash resistance is the property this grade is specified on. Run a trial at your own wash temperature and cycle count to confirm for a specific fabric.
Which film materials do you offer
Thermoplastic adhesive film in TPU, PES, PA and EVA, with thickness from 50 to 200 micron.
