What The Lifting Round Sling Is
A round sling carries the load on a continuous hank of polyester yarn running inside a woven sleeve. Because the core is a loop of parallel filaments rather than a woven band, the sling moulds itself to the load and shares the pull evenly across every strand.
The double sleeve construction puts a second protective jacket over the core, so abrasion attacks the outer sleeve first and the load bearing yarn is left untouched. This is the most popular and most economical soft sling we supply, and it is available from 1 ton to 100 ton in effective lengths from 0.5 m upward.

How To Use The Lifting Round Sling Safely
- Check the working load limit on the label and confirm it against the sleeve colour before the lift.
- Apply the mode factor for the hitch and the angle of inclination from the table above.
- Estimate or measure the lifting distance and choose an effective length that suits it.
- Fit a protective tube or edge protector whenever the sling passes over an edge or a corner.
- Withdraw the sling from service if the outer sleeve is cut or damaged.
- Keep hands and body clear of the sling while the slack is taken up, and keep the area below the load clear.

What is the capacity range of your round slings?
From 1 ton to 100 ton. Colour coded stock sizes run from 1 t violet to 10 t orange, and higher capacities are built to order.
Why choose a double sleeve rather than a single sleeve?
The second sleeve takes the abrasion that would otherwise reach the load bearing core, so the sling stays in service longer in rough conditions.
What safety factor do you supply as standard?
7:1 is standard. Slings at 5:1, 6:1 and 8:1 are built to order for markets that require them.
Do you supply protective tubes for sharp edges?
Yes. A protective tube can be fitted over the sling body, and edge protection should always be used where the sling passes over a corner.
