What The Permanent Lifting Magnet CSmag Is
A permanent lifting magnet holds steel by magnetic force alone. There is no power supply, no battery and no risk of the load dropping when the power fails. The magnet is placed on the workpiece, the hand lever is turned to switch it on, and the load is lifted by the bolted lifting eye.
The prismatic groove in the base means the same magnet grips flat plate and round bar. Break away force is at least three times the rated capacity, and the working load limit for round material is at least 50 percent of the working load limit for flat material. Every magnet is supplied with a test certificate and operating instructions.

Solution. A permanent magnet holds by material properties, not by current, so a supply failure does not release the load.
Flat and round stock need different handling gear
Solution. The prismatic base grips both, with the round capacity at least half of the flat capacity.
Capacity in practice is lower than the plate says
Solution. Lifting capacity depends on plate thickness and surface roughness. Below Ra 6.3 um there is no surface gap and capacity is 100 percent. The performance curves on the magnet let the real capacity be calculated before the lift.

How To Use The Permanent Lifting Magnet CSmag Safely
- Find the thickness and the surface quality of the component before operating the magnet.
- If the surface roughness Ra is below 6.3 um there is no surface gap and the lifting capacity is 100 percent.
- If Ra is above 6.3 um estimate the surface gap, read the percentage from the air gap capacity curve on the side of the lifter, and combine it with the thickness factor to calculate the real capacity.
- Centre the magnet over the centre of gravity of the workpiece before switching on.
- Turn the lever fully and engage the safety lock before lifting.
- Keep personnel clear of the load and never lift over people.

Does the magnet need electricity?
No. It is a permanent magnet activated by a hand lever, so it holds the load without any supply and cannot drop it in a power cut.
What is the capacity on round bar?
The working load limit for round material is at least 50 percent of the working load limit for flat material. The table above gives both figures for every model.
Why does the plate thickness matter?
Below the minimum thickness the plate cannot carry the whole magnetic field, so the achievable capacity drops. The minimum plate and round thicknesses for each model are in the table above.
What is supplied with the magnet?

What is the lead time?
