What The Chain Hoist Is
A hand chain hoist lifts where there is no power and no room for a crane. Pulling the hand chain turns a load wheel through a gear train, and a double pawl brake with springs holds the load at any point in the lift. There is nothing to plug in and nothing to charge.
Our chain hoists are built to German standards with an emphasis on safety, reliability and quality control. Drop forged top and bottom hooks are specially designed to bend slowly under excessive overload, so the hoist warns the operator before anything fails. The load chain is high strength material at 800 MPa, and RUD chain is available where the customer specifies it.

How To Use The Chain Hoist Safely
- Check the working load limit on the nameplate and confirm the hoist suits the load.
- Inspect the load chain, the hooks and the latches before every lift.
- Suspend the hoist so the load chain hangs vertically and the hoist is free to align with the load.
- Keep the correct lifting angle on the load chain. A hoist is designed for a straight vertical pull.
- Do not lengthen the hand chain or use a bar to increase the pull.
- Lower the load fully and store the hoist with the chain clear of the floor.
