What The Aluminium Housing Wire Rope Pulling Hoist Is
A wire rope pulling hoist grips the rope with self energising jaws and feeds it through the body as the lever is worked. Because the rope passes straight through rather than winding onto a drum, the pulling distance is limited only by the length of rope, not by the size of the machine.
The HX model is a small sized, compact, hand operated lifting tool. The aluminium housing keeps the weight down for a tool that is meant to be carried to the work, and this type of hoist is suitable for outdoor use. The rope is tapered at one end for threading and fitted with a hook and safety catch at the other.

How To Use The Aluminium Housing Wire Rope Pulling Hoist Safely
- Check the capacity on the nameplate and confirm the rope diameter matches the machine.
- Anchor the hoist to a point that can carry the maximum travelling load, not just the rated capacity.
- Thread the tapered end of the rope through the machine and pull it through until the hook reaches the load.
- Work the forward lever with the full stroke, and use the reverse lever to release under control.
- Never use a rope of the wrong diameter or a rope with broken wires.
- Keep everyone out of the line of the rope while it is under tension.
