The second Monforts base profile we hold, for frames whose holder seat differs from Type 1.
Product Overview
This is the second of the two Monforts pin plate profiles we manufacture. The pin work is the standard arrangement, two rows at three to four pins per centimetre with pins about 5 mm long, thickened at the base so the cloth does not touch the hot base plate.
What separates it from the Type 1 plate is the base profile where it meets the holder. Monforts frames of different ages take different seats, and a plate that only nearly fits will rock under the press wheel and bend its own pins.

Why are there two Monforts profiles?
Because the holder seat is not the same across Monforts frame generations. Rather than guess, we hold both and match from a sample.
What if neither profile fits?
Then we cut to your sample. That is normal work for us and it is how most non-standard orders start.
Is the pin arrangement different between the two types?
No. Both carry the standard two rows at three to four pins per centimetre with pins about 5 mm long.
Can I mix the two profiles on one machine?
You should not. Mixing seats gives stepped pin height along the bed, which shows on the cloth.
