It is specified for low pressure liquid transportation carrying water gas and oil, and for construction piling and general piping work. Because the diameter is set by the forming angle rather than by a fixed mill mandrel, outside diameters from 219.1mm to 3048mm come off the same line, which removes the usual problem of a large diameter line having no economical source. Lengths run from 3 to 70 metres so long runs can be laid with fewer field joints.
