Ordering it already cut to width and in the delivery condition you want removes the decoiling and re-rolling step a press shop would otherwise pay for on every batch. Specifying Handling and Welding Notes
- State the delivery condition on the order because annealed and quenched and tempered strip behave very differently on the press
- Bend across the rolling direction where the part geometry allows and keep a generous bend radius on the harder condition
- Allow for springback when setting the die and confirm the first off part against the drawing before running the coil
- Send the strip layout so the coil is slit to your blank width and edge scrap is not shipped with it
- Keep coils dry and banded on wooden supports because bare spring strip marks easily against concrete
- Ask for the mill test certificate with the shipment so the grade is documented against the part number

What thickness and width can you slit spring steel strip to?
Thickness runs from 0.1mm to 10mm, and the spec sheet also quotes a 0-20mm thickness range for coil. Width is 0-1000m or customized as required, so send your strip layout and we will confirm what can be slit.
Is 1075 the same as C75 and S75C on our drawing?
They are the cross references for the same spring steel. The coil is supplied as 1075, C75, C75S, CK75, XC75, S75C, 1.1248 or C75E against BS, EN, GB, AISI, ASTM, DIN and JIS drawings.
Do you supply the strip soft for forming or already hardened?
Both. Cold rolled, annealed and quenched and tempered conditions are available, so state on the order whether you are forming the part first or fitting it as delivered.
Can we get a sample coil before committing to a production quantity?
Samples are available. Tell us the grade, gauge and strip width you want to trial and we will confirm what can be released for the test run.
Will this strip hold an edge for knives and wood saws?
